Limited, spacious, shaded, fragrant, quiet, quaint camp sites. Clean bathrooms, easy beach access, 3 MAGICAL hikes through the oldest redwoods in California!

Stumbled upon this awesome state park while driving hwy 1. Campsites start just a few steps from the beach and follow a clear stream up into the redwoods. Beautiful park! Beach has spectacular sunsets. The hikes are short and picturesque. (3 hikes: waterfall, old limekilns, and following the stream further past the campsites) The hosts at this campground are amazing people. They have many books and resources about hikes throughout Big Sur and truly love the area. Recommend site #21- right on the stream, large site, somewhat private.

Went to see the waterfall and it was beautiful. It's a short fifteen minutes walk one way in a lovely forest

Three beautiful and manageable short walks up Hare Creek, out to the waterfall, and to the old limekilns. All traverse the most enjoyable creeks through old redwoods. And a short walk away is a small ocean beach.

Excellent 3 hour hike, nice trail, interesting mix of woods and views, very few people. Beautiful views when you get to the top.

You will get more out of your hike if you read up on it and take a map.
Good idea to take water and a snack too! We were glad we had hiking poles, which increase stability and efficiency.
