If you are ever in Monterey, please check out the Big Sur. If you are a little thrifty, check out the Big Sur by simply going on a bus tour titled 22 Big Sur. You can catch this bus around 10:20 at the Bus Transit area in downtown Monterey. This 22 Big Sur Bus is only a $3.00 ride, and it takes you all the way into the Big Sur, and our bus driver was nice enough to stop three times to let us take pictures, and give us a bathroom stop. It goes to the Big Sur about three times a day during the week, I'm not sure about the weekends. I met a girl named Fanny (from France) and Nanoon (from the Neverlands) and they were the sweetest young ladies. I had a ball taking pictures with them and telling them about my first visit to Monterey six years ago. I highly encourage folks to take the bus tour, because you don't have to worry about parking or looking out for other cars and getting in an accident. You simply let the driver do the driving while you look! Up and back it takes about 3 hours. It is worth every minute. It is so "America the Beautiful!" Please, if you have never seen the Big Sur, check it out at least once in your life. Incredibly beautiful!! Thank you.

We took Dave’s tour in August 2012, 2 adults and our 18 year old. Dave provided us a premier Big Sur experience tuned to meet our preferences for dramatic scenery and the area’s rich legacy of inhabitants and artisans, past and present. Dave’s intimate knowledge, experience and enthusiasm resulted in an exceptional trip for our family. Dave got to know us before he arrived at our hotel and he had planned a trip just for us, with not too much time in the car and lots of photo stops.

During our trip Dave highlighted the key features of Big Sur and based upon further conversation during the trip, we made a few additional stops. In addition, he is completely
focused on those in the car and did not use his cell phone to conduct business during out tout. He also provides water and healthy snacks. We highly recommend taking a tour with Dave.

My husband and I had planned to drive to Big Sur on our own, but after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to have Dave show us the way. He picked us up at our Inn in Carmel and before we had even left town, he started to show us one of many great views we would see that day. Dave knew we wanted to do some hiking and stop at Nepenthe and he made sure to accommodate these requests. In addition, he stopped at some other interesting places for us that we would have driven by if we were on our own. The big advantage for us was being able to enjoy the scenery while Dave drove and narrated what we were seeing. At the end of our trip, Dave took us to an interesting side road lined with Redwoods. Beautiful place to stop and take pictures. That is the other big plus, Dave was more than happy to take pictures of us which will help us remember our trip together. We enjoyed our day and Dave is an interesting and informative guide.

We had a fabulous time with Dave - he is a fun, friendly guide, full of enthusiasm and local knowledge. He took us all the way from Carmel to Santa Barbara and we were delighted with our mini road trip. A great way to see the Californian Coast.

Dave was a great guide for me and my two friends, he helped us out with accommodation, I had travelled down the coast road before and wanted my friends to see it, unfortunately the fog let us down but Dave made the most of it. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Big Sur River Inn where the sun came out for an hour or so. Me being a movie buff delighted in the stories of movie stars who lived in the area, movie locations and having our dinner at Clint Eastwoods Mission Ranch. Hearst Castle is a place not to be missed pre book tho. Thankyou so much Dave good luck in the future, your mad Aussie friends Susan, Barb and Marie.
