“August Visit Will Not Blow You Away, But...”

It's a very picturesque location. The photos will be lovely. You may have to wait in a long line to park inside the park, but luckily, if you decide to park alongside the road instead, it's not that long of a walk from the road to get to the good stuff inside the park. If you're driving along PCH and you want to see some great sights, this one is one to mark on the must-see list.

“Beach Waterfall!”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

One of the most beautiful places on the shoreline in Big Sur. Short walk is easy for most and worth the amazing vista views.

“A waterfall by the bluish green waters of the Pacific: Picture Perfect!”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

The Big Sur area is renowned for the breathtaking views of the Pacific that it offers. If you have just a day to drive the SFO to Big Sur part of Highway 1, make sure you make time to visit this state park. There are two ways of getting to the popular McWay falls. One option is to park on Highway 1 and take some steps down to the trail to the falls. This option is probably harder on weekends when there is a huge crowd. The other option is to enter the state park and park over there. The trail to the falls from here is slightly longer but still takes only 5-10 minutes. The McWay falls itself is gorgeous. How I wish I had access to the li'l stretch of sandy beach located near the falls!

“Easy walk to beautiful scenery”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

Definitely a cool stop if you're doing Big Sur. Two very simple walks to 1) beautiful redwoods at one end and 2) McWay Falls and a great lookout at the other. Didn't spend much time exploring the rest of the park, but definitely worth the visit.

“Easiest Hike EVER”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

We are 50+ and had some reservations about hiking. But this did not require real hiking at all to see the waterfalls. (which were picture perfect) Highly recommend even if only to see the falls. Easy 15 minutes but so lovely.
