The views from this place are so beautiful! It is a short, easy walk from the highway. Once you're in, you're amazed that someone actually lived at that site, and they were lucky enough to have a waterfall like that for a view.

All the other reviews on here have nailed it. If you are traveling on Hwy 1 near Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park you must stop here. It doesn't take much time at all (30 mins to walk the trail, take pictures, and get back to your car) and it is worth it! The view from the trail of McWay Falls is breathtaking. We parked along the road right next to the trailhead and didn't pay the fee just because it was closer to the falls. You do have to pay a $10 fee if you park in the parking lot, but it would be worth it. This was our favorite stop along HWY 1. Don't miss it!

Do not miss this stop if you are driving up the 1. This waterfall is beautiful. Short little hike. Well worth the pit stop. One of my favorite stops on hwy 1

I loved, loved, loved this location. Yes it's hard to find parking and yes lots of people go there, but I didn't feel it took away from the beauty and serenity of the place. The park service keeps all the natural beauty locked away from the crowds and you can only observe it from afar. I felt it was one of the most beautiful places I've seen. The hike is short and no one was there asking for money for parking. We went in August on a weekday. I was very glad we stopped. It was breathtaking.

Arrived at 1pm to find a full parking lot but parked on Rt 1 like everyone else. Climbed down to the main path and wow- well worth the effort! Stunning views of coast and falls. Must see if in the area.
