“Fantastic place to camp”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

Great camp ground with a fun river running through it. Lots of places to camp in the sun or shade. Does get coastal fog so make sure you have warm clothes for the early morning breakfast.Excellent walking trails and lots to see..

“nice place”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

Had an opportunity to visit the beach along with the family. Its pretty nice and clean beach. Unfortunately could not enjoy a a dip in the water as it was very cold and chilly. It was pretty windy as well. Stayed there for few hours. The drive on the Highway 1 was absolutely fantastic.

“Large Neat Campingsites”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

We were visiting California with some friends and went camping. It was lots of fun! This was actually my first time camping, and I think Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park was a good choice. Even though the restrooms weren't the cleanest, it had toilet paper and soap. The showers were on the other side the highway, so that made having showers difficult. There was a nice fire place in the middle of the campsite, surrounded by logs. There were also a couple of picnic tables near by. There was a lot of space to set up things like craft tables, which we did. The site is also near Pfeiffer Beach, which is fun to spend a day at. The cost wasn't expensive at all. If I were to camp again I would choose Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park.

“Great park”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

California has some great parks and this was no exception. We were short on time so we just hiked to the waterfall. The rangers at the entrance were very helpful. I wish we would have had more time.

“Great for a casual hike”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

We only came to the park for day use, so I don't know how the camping is, but it's a good place for some casual hiking that won't take up too much of your day. If you do both the waterfall and valley view walk, you'll get a nice 3 mile hike with a few ups and downs but not too bad. If you are doing both, I would recommend the waterfall first, as the climb back up from the falls is the steepest part. If you choose to only do one, definitely pick the valley view (to the left when the trail splits). The waterfall is very small and not much to look at, and there were a LOT of flying bugs in the viewing area. The valley view is a simple hike without any steep climbs and the view really is very pretty. The end point makes a nice photo spot, although it's too small for people to gather if a lot of people are hiking.
