Pfeiffer Falls
Located at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. It's about a mile hike through lovely redwoods. We gave up shortly into the hike because others returning from the falls said it was a small insignificant site unworthy of the effort. I would imagine after rainfall it would be worth the effort. Perhaps call the park at (831) 667-2315 for the state of the falls.
Save your $10 parking pass as it's valid all day at other state parks as well. This is your park hopper pass!!! :-)

“A must stop if you love to take pictures!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2013

One of the best places I've ever taken pictures.
It was well worth the wait to get in. The openings through the rocks where the water sprays is fantastic.
We saw many birds and people surfing.
I only wish we had gotten there early as it was so peaceful.

See my very positive review mistakenly posted for nearby Julia Pfeiffer State Park, which is also lovely.

“Redwoods!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

We overnighted in Big Sur Lodge, in Big Sur State Park. Their rooms are actually cabins. They were okay, the price was not bad, but there was no TV, no Wi-fi, barely a cell signal, no breakfast included (but you could eat at the lodge). However, it was clean and comfortable, gave us a separate bedroom, and a kitchen. In the morning we were treated to at least 6 or 8 deer grazing quietly on our front lawn & across the street, and they allowed us plenty of time to photograph them. We then drove through some portions of the Park, and enjoyed the redwood trees, and the general scenery – very lovely drive.
The Lodge is well located along Big Sur, about 2/3 of the way to Carmel, driving northbound. We took the whole day to meander up there from Cambria, stopping dozens of times to take pictures, and having a picnic lunch. We got into the Lodge after dark, but only because we dawdled so long.
