Two years in a row we took snorkel tours with Cayuse snorkeling tours. They were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. To find them from the town square, you walk north along the beach to the first road that intersects from the west. They have their business with restaurant under a tent and palapa right there by the beach along the wall. They give an awesome tour and are very accomadating. The reef is the best in the Yucatan. It's the only tour we paid for this year. Everything else we do DIY.

The waves were really choppy and visibility wasn't as great as Cozumel for that reason but we saw hundreds of fish and a lot of coral variety

The diving at the reef was really nice with lots of fish and the dive ended with two turtles. Great DM and the trip to the reef only took about 10 min.

Because of our previous fishing trips in Puerto Morales we were excited to return to the village for another chance to have a great day in November 2012. Went out with a guide and captain. The guide was very chatty and distracted us for a long time. So much so we didn't realise how long we had been away from shore without actually fishing. The captain did all the fishing and only allowed us to hold the line when he had snagged the fish to bring it in. They caught a lot of fish and brought it back to the beach bar and cooked it up to feed family and others on the beach. We agreed on a price in advance of the trip then once back the guide asked for an extra 250 pesos to cover "tip" and the cost of the fishing license fee. I am not sure if this was done with the knowledge of the owner or not. Overall a bad experience.
