It was a nice little zoo. You were taken around by a tour guide. The cost was a bit high for an hour, plus you cab ride. You were able to hold several of the animals. The food that you purchased to feed the animals was taken from you and doled out at the appropriate time. They had a cute gift shop. Overall it was a fun hour.

Like everything else on the Mayan Riviera, it's a touch expensive for a one hour tour (400 pesos for a cab ride from Playacar to get there, 1200 pesos for tickets for 2 adults and two children and another 400 pesos back to the hotel) but the kids loved it. We swam with the dolphins at Xel-Ha, took a tour to Chichin-Itza and snorkled with the turtles at Akumal but whenever someone asks the kids what they did in Mexico they always start off with the trip to Crococun Zoo. They get to hold a baby alligator, hold a baby python or boa (not sure of that one), feed the deer and feed the monkeys. If you have kids then I'd certainly recommend that you go. It's a bit thin for adults but it's great for kids.

We had a great time at Crococun Zoo. The guide was excellent, were able to interact with some of the animals and even take a path THRU the crocodile enclosure!!

I had a great time at this little zoo. This is not your typical zoo where you see everything behind cages. You got an up close and personal experience with the animals which is likely why you had to have a tour guide- for your own safety! The monkeys were swinging around you and running between us. We even got to feed them as they reached down from trees to grab the bananas. I sat down on a curb at the zoo and noticed a monkey on a leash- I wanted to take him home. A very crazy experience walking through the land of crocodiles- nothing to stop them from attacking you! No way would you get this experience in America!
