We had been to the Zoo 3 years ago. This time we took our young adult daughter. We all enjoyed it. The tour guide was knowledgeable about the wildlife. We were there for the tour for about 2 hours in the morning. Great for families, children, and adults.

This is sort of a rescue zoo. Which is wonderful, as it gives us an idea of the animals displaced by our actions. Also, there is a colony of spider monkeys living in the trees of the zoo. According to the guide, first only about 9 monkeys visited but as a development next door cut down all the trees the whole monkey colony escaped to the zoo.
All the animals are really well cared for. They even have the ancient breed of Mayan dogs. They have no hair.
It was great, especially for the kids. Very interesting and interactive! If you like getting close to animals - GO!

Animals well looked after, staff look happy in their work, thorough tour and opportunity to get really close to some wonderful reptiles, snakes and Crocs!

Your kids will love it - safe but on the right side of scary, educational throughout. Wouldn't buy the bags of food at the start as you don't personally distribute the food that you've bought, however you do get a chance to feed some monkeys via a hoist/pulley and some deer by hand.

The Croc enclosure is worth the entrance alone, an open enclosure you walk through with the Crocodiles ignoring you and sunbathing as you pass within a meter. Amazing!

This place made our holiday. The two of us were allocated our own tour guide, so it had a real personal feel to it. Could not believe they let you just walk right next to the adult crocodiles with no fencing or security, but they seemed well trained not to eat humans! They also let you pick up and hold the smaller crocodiles!

This was the cleanest zoo I have ever been. watch out for fire ants. Got bit when I leaned on a pile of them trying to feed the turtles. little antibacterial and felt fine a few hours later. You really get up close and personal with some of the animals. The guides are very informative and speak great english.
