We are in our late 30's, married with 3 children. This is our annual get-away without the kids..We read many reviews on this site before booking, And did we pick a winner. Check in was simple, we arrived around noon from NJ, the room was ready, and we were brought right to our room. the bell boy pointed out all the important areas..and gave us some tips. We were never bothered by Time share people. we were in a swim-up room, spa view. Room 2001. the room was spotless, and breath-taking. large room, ample double sink area, small toliet area. great whirlpool tub., nice very large shower area. Stocked refrig. with candy, nuts, soda and beer. Patio had a nice jacuzzi.. but we did not use it, 2 chairs, bench with cushion, and hammock. You only had to walk a few feet to fall in the pool.
we ate at the lobster house, spice(twice), The Grill, and barcelona( Italian). The food was great. Huge assortment at the breakfast buffet, something for everyone, fresh eggs, omelets and grill area. Also an area with Spa inspired foods. Lots of fruit, yogurt, etc. The pan fried Lobster at The Lobster house was excellent, as was the food at Spice..great Thai Beef Salad. At the Italian restaurant The Veal Saltimboca, and Lamb Ossobocco was delicious, probably the best we have had. service at all was always top-notch. Also the grilled shrimp at the Grill were great. Also 24 hour room service. They really cannot do enough for you.I don't know where they find their staff, but we could use them in the US. One person was nicer than the next. And always have a smile on their face. drinks were plentiful..try the drink of the day each day. If it is not strong enough, just ask for extra or shots on the side.
Pools were clean, some warmer than others. We were able to find rafts each day, but if the occupany goes up, I could see it being harder to find one. we were able to find chairs by both the pools and beach, even at 9-10am. we liked to find them under an umbrella, so we could be shaded part of the day..when we wanted the sun we just pulled it away from the umbrella a little. the beach front was great..wider than I expected. Clean, a little sea-wee though..but not anything slimy. You could take long walks in either direction. They have paddle boats, sail boats, kayaks, snorkeling. Activites go on most of the day, with a show (variety, magic, circus, music, etc) at 9pm in the large outdoor covered theater, and usually something around 10-10:30p..disco, DJ, karaoke, etc. The rooms have shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, lotion, iron, hair dryer, robes, slippers, safe. Daily turn down service. It was our anniversary so one night when we came back, our tub was filled, rose petals all over the room, fruit, champagne. Really nice!!
They have butlers on the beach and by the pool. They come around often to bring drinks, and also food if you request.
I used the spa for a Cocoa body wrap, which includes about an hour of hydrotherapy...different kinds of massaging tubs, sauna, steam room, neck scalp massage. Then upstairs to a private room for the wrap. the room was so calming, soft music, candles, incense. they are very professional. i left with some REALLY smooth skin. That was a special that day and was only $99.00, I was there for about 2 hours, I don't know where you would go in the states and get that kind of treatment for $99.00. I had booked through Liberty, and had a $75.00 spa credit, and was able to use that. what a deal!!! The main building has a room upstairs with free computers with internet service you can use, also a copier.
We just cannot say enough nice things about this place. There is something so different about the customer service in mexico. We would go back in a heart beat. we have also stayed at The Golden Parnassus, and The Royal Cancun..both also all adult. This compares to the Royal..probably a little better, definetly has a bigger nicer beach front.
Please email me if you have any questions, I asked several people questions on trip Advisor before going..and found the responese very helpful in making our final decision.
If anyone goes here, and is not happy..there is something wrong with them.
You will be thrilled with your vacation. The most relaxing, and romantic 5 days we had all year, and can't wait to go back next year. A++++++++++ Not a complaint from us!!!
