This was our first time booking outside of a resort and wanted to find a place where we could enjoy more of the culture.
I can't say enough about the hospitality Eva and Bernardo have shown us. Our room was very clean and kept that way on a daily basis. We stayed in the full suite with a kitchen thinking we would cook occasionally but there were so many places to eat in a short walking distance so we took the opportunity to try as many of the restaurants possible.
The beach is a few kms away but nothing we couldn't handle walking in the morning or just took a taxi from the 7-Eleven.
There are tons of little markets in the area if you want fresh fruit. There is also the Super Aki and Chedraui (grocery stores) that have great prices.
Anything you need to know you just ask them. They never steered us wrong and always tried to save us a few dollars.
And what can I say about the area of this place...it is safe! It looks deceiving at first but we walked the streets day and night and everywhere we went we never once felt any concern for our well being.
If you want to experience everything the area has to offer and feel right at home stay at Buenos Dias Guest House!
We will definitely be back.

Overall we found the Buenos Dias Guesthouse to be professional and friendly. Room was clean and cosy, breakfast was yummy, and we got a great recommendation for a little taco place on our first night. We stayed in a room without A/C on the ground floor that looked out onto the common space. My only complaint was that the lights in the common area were on all night and poured into our room. I'm sure the rooms with A/C would be quieter, but so it goes when you're on a budget!

That place is not for people who are looking for a shiny luxury but rather for people who prefer a quiet holiday in cosy & creative environment and wish to mind their own business instead of being overwhelmed by tourist attractions. Hosts are amazing! Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly – facilitates people to mingle fast and share their travel experiences for mutual benefits. The location is really great – well-equipped supermarket and bus stop are close as well as car-rental. Puerto Morelos is between Cancun and Playa del Carmen – frequent public transport makes commuting fast comfortable. There are opinions that the beach is perhaps a bit far .. well .. it’s not that far. Those who do not like to walk (app 30 min) or go by bicycle (kindly provided by hosts), can take taxi (30 pesos) for a fast arrival. I spent there the whole month from mid-Dec to mid-Jan and looking forward to come back again!

Room Tip: Corner studio is actually a large apartment with two entrances

We cannot recommend Buenos Dias Guest House enough! Bernardo and Eva are the most friendly hosts imaginable. They are very knowledgable about the area, and can recommend many day trips and sights to explore. They are also so friendly, helpful and make you feel like you are part of their family. A basic and delicious breakfast of bread, fruit, yogurt, coffee, and juice is offered every morning and you will enjoy eating this in their relaxing terrace garden space where you can meet other guests staying there. If you are looking to relax they have 3 very comfortable hammocks you can nap or read a book in. The garden space has many lush and colourful plants and flowers. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and they have provided you with kitchen utensils should you opt for the studio apartment rooms with kitchen. Daily cleaning service is offered. Guest house is located about 2 km's away from beach, this spot is in "la colonia" the neighbourhood on other side of highway from Puerto Morelos, but there are bikes offered if you want to bike each day. Route is very flat and wide sidewalk for biking. If biking is not your thing you can easily get to the beach by taxi which is only 20-30 pesos. La colonia is very safe and it is nice to stay in an actual Mexican neighbourhood. There is a grocery store about 5 mintues walk and lots of other local places to eat as well as street carts. If you are looking to stay in a place that is not touristy this is the place for you. Close enough to access the tourist parts (actual Puerto Morelos) but just far enough away to experience real Mexico with the nicest owners. Will definitely be back!

Room Tip: quiet, clean, friendly staff

This was a very comfortable, clean, well run, friendly place. Lots of healthy choices & great coffee for self serve breakfast at outdoor tables. You could read at the tables or lying in hammocks on the ground level. The owners, Eva and Bernardo, were incredibly warm and helpful - especially with a problem car rental on our first day. We loved the local restaurant Chilipayas and walked there twice for wonderful seafood. We felt comfortable walking day and night in the neighborhood. We stayed here on our 1st and last nights of a 17 day drive trip thru the Yucatan because it was a 20 minute drive from the airport. On our last day we spent a few hours at the beach in Puerto Morelos. What a treat. It's a low-key white sand beachfront town with swimming, snorkeling, and nice restaurants - and no hyper-development. In retrospect I'd say that Buenos Dias would be a good place to stay longer and use as a base for day trips (many easy transportation connections) or just relaxing days at a beautiful beach (I saw beach lounge chairs for rent fo $2.50US with use of bathrooms and showers).

Room Tip: Room looking out on the breakfast area had a/c, natural light, was spacious, & nicely modernized
