“the best fish in town”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

So rusty you can feel the sand between your feet while eating, and there's no fancy chairs or candles but plastic chairs and colorful plastic tableclothes, but my oh my what amazing fresh fish. They invite you into their kitchen to pick out your own fish for grilling and you need to be there before 5 pm because this is as fresh as it gets. The schrimp and fish coctails can also be highly recommended and is almost addictive.

“Best place in town for fresh fish, seafood real Mexican seafood restaurant”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

feet in the sand, fresh breeze, pick your own fish to fry or choose from ceviche, fish filet. For those of you who have ever tried a whole fish fried the Mexican way. It is a must try

“Good food, poor setting”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

I was quite shocked to see the actual restaurant. Someone from the forum recommended it to us, so I guess I imagined something more. It's a tiny, very poor restaurant in a dark alley, I would not walk there myself at night. There are about 6 or so tables that are just white plastic (like those they sell at wal-mart, maybe $20 each...) with very old plastic table cloths, that are probably 10 years old. The roof is made of tent material and probably way older than 10-15 years. The restaurant is right on the sand, outside, which is kind of neat, if it was only spruced up a little with a new roof and new tables. Now, the food was very good! We ordered guacamole, which was awesome! Kids got shrimp, I got white fish. Everything was very delicious. Prices are good, about $10-$12pp + soda/drinks. If this restaurant did some upgrades to the place it would be very beneficial/helpful to their business. There was only 1 more table occupied and it was the locals.

“Best fish in town”

La Playita is owned by some local fishermen. Caught the same afternoon, grilled in garlic. Sit on plastic chairs with a plastic table with all of the locals.
Amazing!!

“fresh fish right at your table”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

while in Puerto Morelos, if you are looking for the best fish.... you get to choose it and they cook it whatever style you want... beautiful view of the ocean, eating in a typical mexcian environment and you get to take your shoes of and enjoy the smooth sand between your toes. La Playita serves you botanas (snacks) with your drinks. Enjoy!
