Description: In May of 2012 we took over the operations of the Ojo De Agua Restaurant. Since then we have been busy, upgrading and investing into the restaurant and the Puerto Morelos community. We are committed to the satisfaction and relaxation of our customers; and strive to provide the absolute best beach front dining experience possible in a laid back, safe and stress free environment. All of our staff has been hand picked and valued for their honesty and integrity as well as their ability to cater to your every need. They are well versed on many of the wonderful activities to be found in and around the Puerto Morelos area, and are willing to help you set up anything from a dive or snorkeling trip (we have both available right from the restaurant property) to an ATV or Jungle adventure. Whether you are on that long awaited romantic get away, or on that once in a life time family vacation we want to be your gathering spot. Your base of operations, a place to plan your adventures or just to kick back relax and enjoy peaceful pleasures of the beach.

“The ceviche is tops!”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

When in PM, we always go to the Ojo for a lunch of the ceviche mixto and cold Bohemias or Indios. It's always fresh and tasty...plus you can kick off the sandals and put your toes in the sand while dining. Always good service here, and a terrific ocean view.

“Marvelous lunch on the beach, amazing views”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

We rolled off the massage table next door and into this lovely beachfront restaurant in the sand just in time for lunch. We started with delicious guacamole, had a generous and fresh shrimp ceviche, nicely prepared grilled chicken with habanero sauce in a tortilla with habanero and black beans, tasty chicken ceasar and beef fajitas as well as tasty pina colada and mai tais. Not the least expensive restaurant in PM but still a good value if you are from the US.

“Best beachfront restaurant in town”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

This is my favourite place to eat in town, and I would happily recommend it for every kind of traveller. You can sit inside (only really recommended if it's pouring rain), on the palapa patio (my preference), or under umbrellas on the beach. If you're travelling with kids, you can safely let them run on the beach (make sure they're wearing their PFDs) while you keep an eye on them from your table. The clientele are extremely laid-back and easy to start conversations with about what to do in town - everyone has an opinion. (The correct opinion is: snorkel out to the underwater cenote that the hotel is named for, then come back and eat and drink some more.)

The menu is in typical local fashion a haphazard approximation of what is available. My favourite dish is the filete de pescado al ajillo, but when I visited yesterday I got a menu that didn't list it. I asked the waiter about it, and he said "Of course we still offer it, it's one of our most popular dishes, it's just that the guy who printed up the menu forgot to list it." So if there's something that you want to eat that you know is available locally, just ask the waiter if the chef can make it.

Lastly, for most people it might be a little thing, but I hate getting bitten by mosquitos, especially as news reports of dengue fever in the region increase. All the restaurants in town are open air, and if you go out for dinner on a hot evening, someone in your party is going to get bitten; unless you choose a place like this lovely restaurant, where the onshore breeze from the beach will keep the bugs away.

“Excellent Ceviche”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Had lunch here after snorkeling. Great chicken fajitas & excellent ceviche, really flavorful. Do yourself a favor & stop in for nice cold beer & some ceviche after spending some time on the beach or snorkeling. It's well worth it.

“Nice, casual, beachfront place for a bite”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

Stopped here for a beer and a ocean view before a snorkel trip. Very relaxing and a perfect, small Mexican town place. Came back later for a cold beer and light lunch: chicken nachos, quesadillas, and shrimp ceviche. Fabulous!! Didn't try dinner or anything else on the menu. The restaurant is attached to a low-end hotel, but if you're looking for a relaxed, casual, beachfront place to get a bite of local food to have, this will do the trick. Looks kind of weather beaten and the bathrooms were, um, functional at best, the staff was nice and the local food was great. Happy hour from 2-4pm, for 2 for 1 drinks.

silverstater, Thank you for the time you have taken to write a review about us. We value your input. We are currently unaffiliated with the hotel, and are a separate entity. However we are still committed to living up to the expectations of our customers and this includes clean and fully operational bathrooms (even in Mexico  ) we have corrected this issue. additionally, We have fresh paint outside now (Check out our Marlin), and have some additional upgrades scheduled for the 2013 year. We hope to see you back, and would value your additional reviews.
