We rarely snorkel but since we were close to the second largest coral reef, we thought we’d go out and snorkel.
This trip was great.
The group was small (5 including us) and our leader Adrianna was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and pointed out the two turtles, indigo hamlet, scrawled filefish and other colorful fish. Our captain nicknamed Poulé was helpful and fun. They sized us with equipment carefully and fed us well between our two snorkeling trips of 45 minutes to different parts of the barrier. The first trip proved to have more fish but we saw some other types more rare on the second snorkeling.
We had water and granola bars on the boat. We had fresh fruit on arrival back.
Puerto Morelos’ white sandy beach is lovely and the town is authentic, not crowded.
A lovely adventure.
