This restaurant has numerous reviews in Trip Advisor but deserves more. It is small and in a small town just off the main road from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen. We can't say enough about the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the food and the prices. You have to experience it for yourself..

We travel quite a bit and always stop at Argentine restaurants. The restaurant has the small town feel to it, as it sits open to a side street. The waiters are quite nice and speak english. They have a small wine selection to compliment what you order. There is no air conditioning, but that is typical for this town. If I understand correctly, the owner/chef is from Argentina and he is quite friendly. The food was much better than many other more expensive Argentine restaurants we have tried in this area (cancun to Tulum). Recommend to eat here if you are going to go snorkeling in the reef. This is more of a small rustic town. located across the street from a beautiful local church.

We ate at Los Gauchos tonight and the food was great and so was the service. There were four of us and we had the arrachera steak, the ravioli, baked empanadas (try the baked, they are very good), crepes and the lemon pie. Everyone loved the food and the prices were very reasonable. Our waitress was Alicia and she was very good and very friendly. She joked with us and even helped us move our tables 2 times due to rain. We recommend Los Gouchos and we will defenetly go back.

We had the empanadas and an appetizer plate of meats and cheeses and olives.
The plate had lots of cuts and slices. The sausage was good; overall, a better than average appetizer plate. The empanadas had those cute little flags and the pastry was quite good. The beef one was okay but a bit boring, the others particularly good. Service was efficient and really friendly. We'd go back, but frankly the fish restaurants in town are the real stars in Puerto Morelos.
