“Nicest restaurant in town...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

We had a wonderful meal at Al Chimichurri based on recommendations from a couple of expats living in Puerto Morelos. It's a Uruguayan steakhouse, so make sure that the wait-staff explain the cut of meat you have just ordered. For example, an outside-flank is more similar to a sirloin than a flank. The steak was well cooked, the empanadas were delicious. It was a meal comparable with any high end restaurant in the world, but served at a streetside table in Mexico.

“Great place, just a shame”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Really nice place, friendly staff, very popular, we we're just unlucky our night..
The toilets had overflowed, so the smell was terrible, like a few other people we had to move indoors, not the end of the world.
It's speciality was meat, do we both ordered different cuts of steak, medium rare, having French staff we thought it would be good, sadly we had to send the steak back twice, it was a thick cut, first it was blue, then next time we both ate around the rare (bloody) bits and sent the lump back to make it medium rare, owing to the toilets the main guy was pre occupied and not overtly concerned our food was wrong. The low mark was obviously the chef got the hump, mine came back cremated, seriously, was crispy and well done, I pointed this out with a smile and got a shrug...a real shame as I'd still say it was the nicest place there...
It was our last meal after two weeks of driving around seeing amazing temples and diving...bad ending.
Not even an acknowledgment or apology...
Still go though :-)

“Quite possibly the best steak I've ever had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

Now before you scoff, I am a professional eater. I've eaten at top steak houses around the U.S. and Europe (not bragging, just back story). Amazing place. Even the pizza was good. Great vibe. Been coming to PoMo since 07 and one of my favorite places.

“Make it a special night and enjoy the best food in Puerto Morelos”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

This place hold a special place in our hearts we have had many dinner's here and make it a nice long dining experience. We have tried everything on the menu by now and it is all excellent. Everything is cooked in a Forno oven with the wood burning so hot when you go to the washroom you feel the heat from the oven (too much info?) I ordered a salad and it was enough to feed at least 6 tables lol there are some tables inside however it fills up really quick so they set up a bunch of table and chairs on the street, nothing say's your in Mexico like eating on the street. I look forward to reading the reviews about how you all loved the place. Enjoy
