The staff are the best part of this hotel,the hotel lets the staff down! This hotel is more like a building site than a holiday destination. Cleanliness has much to be desired, paint falling off the wall of bathroom, room in need of decoration, food repetitive and the restaurants they advertise are frequently closed or they have run out of the choice you make. To top it all they closed the kids Club!

Room tip: Just don't go

You cannot beat the food the service or the friendliness of the staff.We came here on a west jet vacations trip.We were told they would give us the best deals on exscursions as the locals could rip you off.Our wedding party was told no problem to get a boat that wuold take us snorkeling then to an island where we could rent golf carts to explore the island.The boat could not hold everyone.At one point we were told the people who could not fit on the boat were not going to be refunded.After 30 minutes on the dock everyone drifted away .After about 1 hour they came up with a second boat.This boat was not near as nice as the first one.The captain informed us no snorkeling this time of year.We paid for the golf cart rental .Our money was refunded as there were not enough golf carts.When I told Luis of west jet vacations about the trip he sent us on he did not care.So much for sticking with west jet vacations who are here to help.I think they are here to fill their pockets and thats it.I will never get any more exscursions with such a tough luck attitude from awest jet rep

Just returned from Now Jade after an 8 day stay. Overall we had a great experience! Check in at the Preferred Club was quick and easy. Our experience has been that everyone is always friendly as long as you treat them the way you wish to be treated.

We had a Preferred Ocean View Room. The location was very nice, had a great view of the ocean. Our housekeeper did a great job keeping it nice and clean. After day one she knew what we wanted each day without us having to ask.

Most days we spent at the pool. The only complaint about that is as Preferred members we should get the upgraded liquor, but it’s impossible at the family pool. And our son isn’t allowed at the Preferred Pool as he isn’t an adult, even though I’m required to pay adult price for him. It’s a small thing, but somewhat irritating when you can’t get what you have paid for. It would be nice if there was some sort of system at the family pool for those guests who paid Preferred price or are UVC members to receive what they’ve paid for. Our service was always great! We sat at the same place everyday, and Daniel did a great job taking care of us and making the day enjoyable!

The entertainment team is awesome! The supervisor, David, goes out his way to talk to families and make sure everyone is having the best time! And his team is awesome!

Lastly, the food is just ok. Most of the time the presentation and taste of the food was good, but a lot of the time at the specialty restaurants our food arrived just lukewarm. It still had good taste, but would have been nice to have it hot. The Preferred breakfast is the best in our opinion! The servers are great and the food there is hot! We did purchase wine one evening for a special table and dinner the night of the Fire Show and I would highly recommend that! There was music during dinner and a several course meal which was very good, and the service there was awesome!! They went out of their way to make sure everything was great for everyone!

There is some construction going on, painting of buildings and work being done on a restaurant. It didn’t interfere with our good time, but if that’s something you don’t like to see on your vacation then it’s good to know. Personally I think it’s nice to see them keeping the resort up and making improvements.

Overall the trip was relaxing and enjoyable and I would recommend the resort to others looking for good service and a relaxing time!

We stay during october and we had a great time the food and service exceed our expectations the Barman Francisco THE BEST for the lobby bar is great the restaurants are the best and the executive chef Luigi is amazing, we will go back too many times again and recomend this hotel

Staff was good. Room service below average. Food was blah at the buffet but excellent at Spice and Tamarindo. Top shelf was average here in the US. Had to pay extra for good tequila and wine. Entertainment was disappointing. Pool bathrooms were not kept up. One of our rooms had a leak in the ceiling and wasn't even on top floor. No shower privacy in bathroom, completely open. Not good for families with kids sharing rooms. We'll not stay here again. Just wish we'd have known better that there was such a quality difference between these levels of resorts.
