Our visit to the Sensatori included people of all ages--from 1 to 63. Believe me, there was something for everyone. From the time we walked into the beautiful front lobby, we felt the friendliness and caring attitude of all the staff. This attitude never changed the whole week that we were there--not once. We had rooms that had a canal along with a private outdoor jacuzzi off of our patio. The grandchildren loved it. The beach was right there---never a problem to find a lounge chair or bed. There are many restaurants so there never was a wait (weekends are busier). We loved the room service , and especially the ceviche for lunch at the Zavaz. A plus-it's a short drive from the airport.

Just returned after a week at Azul Sensatori and we are already trying to find an excuse to go back. The resort is everything it was advertised to be. The beach is not the best I have ever been to. What makes this place incredible is it's the people. I have been to many very nice places. There are beautiful hotels all around the world and frankly I have been to better beaches than the one at Sensatori. All that said, it was one of the best trips/weeks I have ever spent anywhere ever. The people that work at the resort took care of us in every way imaginable. They arena solutely the best. One of the best vacations my wife and I have ever taken. Thanks

Me and my hubby stayed in this hotel for our first year ann, we decided to upgrade to the adult only part swim up jacuzzi suites. The rooms are spacey clean and very styleish... the food in all the restaurants were great standard... the only problem was coming back to our room that we had paid a fortune for to find the ppl layed in our jacuzzi area.... being very loud and generally annoyeing... there were children splashing us while we sat relaxing on our ADULT ONLY veranda, i wouldnt usually mind but this was a one off adult only holiday that we had booked... because we needed some real relaxation time. after complaining to staff the ppl moved leaving there mess everywhere... we were then told by staff that this was the owner and his family...!! we just couldnt beleive that the owner of such a lovely hotel would act this was.. after paying 3000 for a weeks holiday i was pretty annoyed... i wouldnt give such an aragent git my money again!! the El dorado is much better for the same price this hotel might b newer and hipper but in general i as a little let down... the location is also pretty iffy aswell.. and the beach is crap! seaweed and rocky... no water sports just rocks and pollution

The hotel staff were very gracious and generous always willing to remedy any error and accommodating requests with care and tact. We loved staying with you and would recommend the resort to our friends.
The two areas we would recommend improvement on is the consistence of product being served. There were a number of time we ordered fresh squeezed orange juice to battle a cold and everyday was different. Sometime concentrate, sometime lemonade and sometime the real thing. The next area is the beach. It needs to cleaned up of rocks so that we could swim in it. It was sharp and uncomfortable to be in the water in its current state.
Other then that the staff are wonderful, the food amazing, the idea of gourmet cutting edge and the trip a memorable experience we will cherish. Thank you once again
A special mention will go to Marco who works at the front desk. He went far above anything we could have expected to make our stay wonderful and help us create the memories with the Azul that will keep us talking about the resort for years to come.

My husband and I chose the Azul Sensatori hotel for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. We did not purchase the honeymoon package, but we travelled with Thomson and made sure we told them we had just got married and they said that maybe the hotel would do something special for us. They upgraded us to a room in block 4, which had a sea view, which was more than satisfactory for us.

Everyone is offered a glass of champagne and a cold towel on arrival, check in was quick and almost all of the reception staff were very friendly and efficient. The bellboys took our luggage to our room for us, which was very welcome given the elevator in our block (4) was not working on the day we arrived. However, it was fine for the rest of our holiday. The rooms are very comfortable, spotless and the AC works perfectly. I have to say having a jacuzzi tub was so useful after spending days in the sun, although it can take quite a few minutes to fill up.

The grounds were very well maintained, as were the swimming pools. They did have a problem with their filters, which meant that suncream could build up on the surface of the pool. This was NEVER an issue though, as it is constantly monitored and cleaned. After reading some reviews before arrival, i was convinced that getting a sunbed was going to be impossible. As long as you are up before 8am you should not have a problem, but be aware that many people place towels to reserve sunbeds and do not make an appearance all day!

As far as food goes, there are 6 different restaurants available. We did not get chance to try Le Chique, which is the only restaurant requiring a reservation (3 days in advance). However everyone talks about it so would say to definately try it if you are able to. All of the other restaurants provide great service and satisfactory food and i would advise trying them all out if you can. The best restaurant for breakfast is by far Spoons, the buffet, as they have the widest choice of items. It can get very busy though and it is worth bearing in mind that Zocalo (the Mexican) and Zavaz (the Caribbean) also offer breakfast. We personally did not rate Zocalo for breakfast, they had the smallest choice, but if you're not a big breakfast eater then it is worth going anyway to sit outside and enjoy the view of the sea before it gets too humid.

We went on a Thomson excursion to Chichen Itza whilst we were there and it was well worth the money! The tour guides were great, very friendly and informative. They also constantly ensure you drink bottles of water and offer soda or Corona on the bus, which just seems to keep flowing, and is all included in the price. You get chance to swim in a cenote if you want to, make sure you take swimwear for this. Also, even though lunch is included at a buffet restaurant, make sure you take some cash as you do have to pay for your own drinks there and get chance to buy the odd souvenir throught the day. You can't climb the pyramid there anymore, but if this is something you want to do then consider an excursion to Coba instead.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, located amongst marsh-type land. It is not a problem though as you don't really need to leave the hotel. Pretty much everything is available onsite, or the bellboys will be willing to get you things providing you tip them. Taxis to Cancun and Playa del Carmen will cost you 40 USD for a one way trip. As we wanted to visit both, we actually rented a car for a day and a half, which i would definately recommend. The road signs are easy to follow and the roads are pretty much all straight, so it's difficult to go wrong. If you do, they have very handy 'retorno's' every so often, providing the opportunity for safe U-turns.

We did not use the spa or gymnasium, but from what we heard they were great. Whilst were there we saw a couple of weddings taking place, you can tell the hotel are used to dealing with weddings as the set up was completed quickly and looked stunning.

Please note the beach is not going to be what you are looking for if you think it should be like the ones in Cancun. However, it is not as bad as some of the reviews state and plenty of people still use it. There are 2/3 great public beaches in Cancun if you want something more "Caribbean".

We had a slight issue with the concierge/guest services, however the problem was solved and all i will say is they provide a lot of information, but don't rely on them 100%. If you're going to book or reserve something from them like we did, make sure you double check with the actual provider.

To conclude, it is a great hotel and is well looked after. However the food quality and service from EVERYONE was not good enough to label it a 5 star hotel.

PS. A quick note to anyone travelling with Thomson - we did not prebook seats together on the outbound journey and as we got to the airport early enough we got lucky and were seated together. However, there were quite a few couples and groups who were split, so i would advise getting to the airport for check in as soon as it opens or prebooking. For the return flight. we paid to prebook seats together with our Thomson rep at the hotel, as with the transfers you cannot guarantee you will get to the check in desk first.

This could be a five star hotel but is miss managed. Thats why i give it a three.
Pros-
The pool was nice.
The food was good.
The bars were all great, willing to make you any drink you could imagine.
The service was good.
The rooms were clean and well taken care of on a regular basis.
The entertainment for small kids was great.
Sunwing flight was good there and back.

Cons-
Sunwing excursion prices were double anyone else.
Sunwing reps on bus to and from airport were always looking for tips.
The Concierge was very helpful but constantly trying to sell timeshares. This was very annoying.
The towel guys are also constantly pushing excursions.
The front desk was rude at times and one particular employee (Kristian) seems to get satisfaction from telling you it wasn’t hotel policy.
The entertainment for teenagers was crap, my teenage daughters went there only once and no one was there to help them.

To get good service you need to tip, it’s that simple. This is a great place to vacation but when you have people that won’t let up and keep pushing and trying to sell you anything they can it ruins it all. Mexican’s think were millionaires, they don’t realize we also work hard for our money. To the Mexican airport cleaning employee who demanded a tip because he gave me a paper towel, give it a rest!
