Our family of 10 ranging in age from 2 to 72 years visited this lovely resort March 8 th 2014! We all had a fabulous time--- the staff were exceptional especially Jose and Miguel as our beach servers! Our rooms were ocean view and so gorgeous-- I have never been to such a clean resort! The wait staff in all the restaurants were terrific as was the food! The dance classes were a big hit with our teen Grandaughters also pottery painting on the beach!! Pools were super- so pristine-- lots of cots-- never seemed too crowded! Dining at Le Chique was a unique experience-- 12 courses of unbelievably delicious tastes. It was a wonderful holiday-- wish we could have stayed 2 weeks! Really hope to go back soon!! C. C. Bath On Canada

my husband and I booked this holiday for our honeymoon. I was apprehensive as I wanted an adult only hotel, this was our compromise and we stayed in room 2108 a swim up suite in the adult only building. The room was not a disappointment.
We didn't fly on a Dreamliner we had an older first choice plane it was a bit dirty but spacious compared to other airlines. The people flying on Dreamliner were often delayed.
The major nightmare of the holiday is getting through Cancun it is like a cattle market and constantly getting passports out and they randomly search bags. Once through the airport the transfer is thankfully only 20minutes which is much appreciated after 11hours on a flight and 90minutes getting through the airport. One of the best features of Sensatori is picked up last and dropped off first this even seemed to happen with transfers for trips. Some previous reviews mentioned the road to the hotel, it seems to have been fixed but it is a very long road.
Arriving at the hotel the staff are so welcoming they took us into the rooftop room gave us champagne and face towels the check-in was much more relaxing than the usual queue at the reception.
We arrived to our room, it had a happy anniversary sign on instead of honeymoon which was a bit disappointing but the thought was there. The room was lovely I would defiantly recommend a swim up suite. The minibar was filled daily. There is plenty of complimentary products including vanity kits, sewing kits, shoe polish etc. We had a bottle of champagne by our Jacuzzi. The maid left daily towel and flower displays which was lovely. Our room was near the waves bar in the adult pool so you could just pop over for a drink. When the swim up bar is open the staff will come to your room and take drinks orders which was great on the days we stayed in our suite.
The pools were fantastic, cleaned everyday and plenty of sunbeds, if you want a Bali bed you do need to get up early and reserve it, they usually become available in the afternoon though. On a weekend it gets a bit busier with the Canadians and Americans who seem to use Mexico as their version of Benidorm. The adult pool tends to get louder around 3pm with the Canadians and their Bubba Cups, they must pass out by tea time because you don't really see as many at night. The only thing about the adult pool is that there is only 2 umbrellas for the whole area which is a bit of a let down and needs to be improved. The only other issue is water only comes in plastic glasses rather than bottles so it has the plastic taste, bottled water would be appreciated.
The food - the food here is wonderful! We have been to many all inclusive and this is the best. If you are a bit picky I can see you having a bit more of an issue because it is aimed at being gourmet. The staff will try and cater to you so if you want a side with your meal just ask as they aren't on the menu but just ask for chips etc and they will get you them. The Mexican/carribean was best for lunch and the Italian/tapas are best for evening meal.
We booked Le Chique, it is an experience and until our 6th course we were very impressed but we waited 45 minutes for the pork dish and the dessert when everything else was around 15minutes between, I had to ask for my drink to be refilled twice and felt ignored by the staff because we had not paid for the extra wine package. The food was good but the service was disgusting, I spoke to the manager and told him my problems he was very sorry and offered for us to go again and promised he would get us in and out in 90minutes but I explained that this was not my issue it would have just been nice to not be ignored and informed that there is a delay.
When you go into a restaurant they will give you a wine menu which comes at an extra charge but just ask for house wine which is very good for all inclusive. They will also give you a specials menu which is the same everywhere, a choice of steaks and an option with Lobster, it confused a lot of people - basically if you get a steak it is 150paso's if you get steak and lobster it is 300paso's. We both tried the steak on different nights and it was nice.
Spoons was great for breakfast with everything you could think of. Spoons was also good for lunch and it had a great sushi and sashimi section which was good for a light lunch.
Room service was fantastic! you have to try it! Breakfast was exceptionally good and it was nice to relax on the terrace with breakfast on a morning. The little hash browns were my favourite, its a shame these aren't available in spoons.
The trips were good we went to Isla Contoy - I have written a review on the Isla Contoy page we also went on the romantic dinner cruise which was a fantastic night.
I booked dolphin swimming before we went with dolphin discovery on the internet at playa del Carmen and so glad we did, it was much cheaper than Thomson and the beach there was amazing probably as good as Isla Contoy! the dolphin pictures cost a lot though 1600pasos.
We got the shared taxi to playa del Carmen one night which was good but the shops are repetitive and I was shocked by the expense of it most things were cheaper at home apart from Mac makeup. We had a nice meal at Sur which is a fancy steak restaurant.
The Thomson reps were always available in the day and think of little things like the swap box so don't worry if you forget something they will probably have it and it saves having to spend a fortune in the shop they just ask at the end of your holiday to leave your last bit of toiletries for others to use.
I recommend taking lots of sun lotion we have never been through so much you just seem to burn, also don't forget mosquito spray.
If like me you are worried about going here for your honeymoon, don't because it is lovely and the kids were not a problem! its their rude and loud Canadian parents that are more of an issue. I was also worried about the amount of weddings but because we are not massive beach fans we stayed by the pool mostly and we never really noticed them.
People moan about the beach and yes its not as nice as some but you can still have a paddle and they work hard to clean the seaweed. If you want a nice beach 20minutes down the road by the dolphin discovery next to Maroma hotel is a fantastic beach.
The spa was good we had a sky massage but ask for Thomson price as the American price is more as they barter it down. I also had my nails done, the staff were very good and it was a nice experience.
The best part of the holiday is the staff they are all amazing and so polite! They work so hard to keep the hotel clean and make the guests happy.
If it wasn't for the long flight I would return again.

Room Tip: swim up suites in adult section are great. I wouldn't bother upgrading to premium if you are in...

What a wonderful holiday and a perfect wedding venue for any couple wishing to have a dream wedding. My son had a perfect wedding day thanks to the staff, who are all very friendly and polite. Cannot fault anything, there was a mixture of ages in our wedding party and there was something for all. Would recommend this resort to anyone no matter what age group.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large with a lovely sea view

Currently staying in the adult section and after nearly 2 weeks here, have to say I can't fault the hotel. Wonderful, friendly yet respectful service from absolutely everyone. All the restaraunts have been good experiences for breakfast, lunch and dinner alike. Our personal concierge Tristan has been very attentive whilst also giving us space.

Will definitely return one day.

We went to azul sensatori in April 2013 (bit delayed but felt we needed to write our review) and before we went we read a few reviews off people who were slating the hotel. I can honestly say it was PERFECT. We are a young couple in our 20s but have high standards when it comes to hotels. From the minute we arrived we were impressed. Greeted with a glass of champagne and a fruit canapé, aswell as a cool towel. Was shown to the room promptly and it was stunning. Absolutely spotless, jacuzzi working perfectly and mini bar stocked up. We were in the adults only building and we didn't hear a sound night or day. We were right by the adult only pool which was perfect. The only thing is you had to be up early if you wanted one of the double day beds. The pool bar was excellent and often had cocktail competitions, poolside quizzes etc which were good fun. Plenty of sun beds around the other pools if you can't get a double day bed. Sensatori prides itself on the food and rightly so - it was like eating out at a different 5* restaurant each night - absolutely nothing like all the other All Inclusive restaurants you usually get. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. I could bang on for hours about how amazing this hotel was but all I'll say is the people who moan about it are being ridiculously picky or are working for rival hotels to make it look bad! This hotel is worth every penny and I honestly can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Adults only building was perfect for us

We returned on Tuesday from our second stay at Azul Sensatori Mexico, and we were not disappointed, we enjoyed our stay just as much as last year.

This year we were in block 3 (last year we were in the adults block), which had a mixture of guests family and couples our room over looked The Zavaz Restaurant (Caribbean) and a lovely view of the ocean. This room was slightly larger than last years and we much preferred the location and the quietness as last years was extremely noisy.

We can’t thank the staff enough for making our stay thoroughly enjoyable and making our 36th wedding anniversary special.. Some staff remembered us from last year, and I would like to say a big thank you to Salvatore who works round the pool, nothing was too much trouble for him.

If you have any doubts about booking this hotel I would say don’t go and have a great time, we had sun for 13 days and even enjoyed the one wet day. All staff work incredibly hard and we never had any problems with any thefts even when we left money and jewellery out in our room, it was placed on a towel by the room staff for when we returned to the room at the end of the day being round the pool and on the beach. While on the subject of the beach while it’s not the best beach in the Caribbean they work incredibly hard at keeping the seaweed clear.

Over all a great holiday and can’t wait to return.

just returned from 2 week stay, we had a great time, everything about this hotel is as good as it gets. The staff, all polite and friendly, the cleanliness of all areas, the 24 hour room service which we used for breakfast on our balcony, food in all restaurants, the swiming pool areas which always had sunbeds available.Rooms are excellent, biggest room I have ever had in a hotel and a jacuzzi bath in your room which on our last day was filled for our return to the room, these extra touches are what makes this hotel just brilliant.
We were also there for a wedding which was so special on the beach.
Yes the beach does have abit of seaweed but they are there early morning cleaning the beach area.
Would love to return to this hotel someday.

Room Tip: the honeyroom suites are really special.
