“Azul Sensatori”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

I generally had a real good time at the Azul Sensatori Hotel. We did have a very nice elegant reception with a champagne toast and a cool wash cloth for you to freshen up was a nice touch. Rooms were nice an comfortable, very clean, and the service was superb. All restaurants on property were very good with a few of them being superb in taste, quality, and service. I enjoyed the Siena (Italian restaurant) the most, the Osso Buco was out of this world. On a side note the hotel beach had some sea weed albeit they constantly were running a tractor with a cleaning brush most of the day. Some room discrepancies were handled same day, although I felt that having a coordinator specifically for the wedding party be present during the large check ins might have been best practice. The staff was very eager to please and always ready to serve. Overall the property is very well maintained and managed.

Room Tip: In regards to building 4 rooms closer to the elevator are most convenient for quick access to pool a...

Since this was our first trip to Cancun, Riveria Maya area of Mexico we had no other resorts to judge especially since this was our first all-inclusive trip. This resort more caters to Families which we shy away from, but this was a family trip for our nephews wedding on the beach. The accommodations were adequate, clean, 5 restaurants with decent food but nothing to rave about, except La Chique which is an upgrade cost to the all-inclusive unless your staying in the Premier Section of the resort (Building 1). The food is innovative and tasty at this adult only restaurant. Paying the upgrade for the Premier Section is well worth it as you get this restaurant for no additional cost, discounts in the Spa, and the Private Concierge which is great. Our concierge, Marselle was just wonderful. She was so professional, courteous, helpful and just a joy to deal with always with a smile on her face. We would definitely return to Cancun, but probably check out another Adult only resort. I have heard good things about the RIU, but need to check out and look for any feedback on these resorts? Overall a good experience.

Room Tip: It is worth paying for the upgraded Premier Building (#1) as it is in a quieter section of the resor...

What an amazing time we had!! My sister had her wedding here and it was fantastic. The rooms were clean, beautiful and spacious. Tons of pools, a great kids club with amazing staff! Dining was okay but all inclusive resorts aren't really known for their cuisine. Nonetheless we still ate well and my kids loved the fact they could order room service whenever they wanted. The beach area was nice and there was a chest of sand toys for the kids to play with. Every employee there was so nice and accommodating. The bartenders sure know how to have fun and we spent one night dancing in the club all night. Everyone was happy:) I would recommend azul to family and friends!!!!

Where shall I start?
Arrived at the Sensatori Hotel on 23rd April 2013. The first impression as we walked into the reception to check in was (Wow) it looked very inviting and the aroma of essential oils gave you and immediate feeling of calm, We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine whilst the staff completed the check in process and our cases were taken to our room. We walked from the reception area, through the roof garden which we later found out most of the entertainment was centered. I will take this opportunity to say how fantastic the standard of the entertainment was too. Our first impressions of the room were "mm" a little bare, could do with a bit colour. However, it was very clean and tidy with all the essentials and more to help make our stay comfortable. The balcony, as said during the booking process, did have a sea view, although a little limited, I also felt that a balcony table and chair set would have been a plus.We decide to have a look around the facilities and we very impressed with everything we saw, from the many swimming pools, the fantastic restaurants and the childrens facilities at "Angelitos play house" were brilliant. During our stay we tried meals at all of eating holes except the "La Chic" which is adult only. Although we found the most meals were of a good standard we had one bad experience at the Italian, not with the food, we must have had a waiter who had a particularly bad day. Face as long as a fiddle was an understatement, my wife asked for the dessert menu, when he, without even a grunt, " I'll not say threw", dropped it on our table as he walked past without stopping, We thought how very rude and promptly left our table and went back to our room. Can I say the this was an exception, as every other member of staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I think the Gold medal should go to the staff at the playhouse, they were brilliant with all of the children, organising and participating in all sorts of activities, my four year old absolutely loved it. For us, the only down side to the hotel is that it is quite a distance from Cancun or Playa Carmen both of which are a long taxi ride away. It would be nice if there was a free shuttle bus to both areas, even if they limited the use by guests to say one journey to each per person. That and our one less than excellent experience would not stop me from recommending this Hotel, I would go as far as to say it was one of the best holidays we have had. "Well done Sensatori"

We were there for our son's wedding. We found the food and service excellent, other than a lack of service at the end of our meal at Siena, the Italian restaurant. Due to lengthy delays in service after we had the main course, we left and had dessert at Spoon and it was great! Loved La Chique, but realized after we got home (since hotel bills are in pesos...not a good thing) that they DID NOT credit the wine purchase. We got billed $100 more than we should have been.

Wedding planning needs to have better coordination. Our kids got the best package to ensure all went well for our group of 29. Their "free" message did not happen and we got to the reception to find our room already being used. Tried to put us sitting with the public buffet line in Spoon. No way! But resolution came with a private room. Unfortunately with the change, some people with small children did not get to eat as everything was delayed by an hour, half the group never got bread, wedding cake was brought out, but the cheesecake sat on trays and was never distributed. No credit for any of the SNAFUs. We have another son who will probably do a destination wedding. Though we would go back to Azul Sensatori as a vacation, we would not recommend it for a wedding. Sorry!

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms in family units are great! All have a hot tub (tho we didn't use it, others di...

We were recommended to this hotel, and after many, many trips to All Inclusives, and have to say this was one of the best. The food and restaurants were well above average for a tourist type hotel. Unusually for an AI, most restaurants felt like you were eating in a proper waiter served restaurant, not a canteen. The only place we didn’t enjoy was the Le Chic, the “experimental cuisine” restaurant, we found this gimmicky and more of an attempt to get you to buy really expensive wine packages. We kept to the free house wine, which was absolutely fine, the non-house wines were very expensive in all restaurants.
The attention to small details was excellent, lots of areas to get drinks, attentive pool waiters, quality drinks, no harsh towel regimes, all in all very good.
The immediate surroundings are just swampy jungle, but that is the same for all the 5* hotels on this coast. Thomson organized group taxis, which made shopping trips to Cancun & Carmen relatively cheap.
My wife also liked the daily weddings on the beach!
