I agree 100% with the previous reviewer. Have not tried the laundry service yet. Rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable with very efficient AC which you certainly need in March. 39deg C outside temperature and humid. Water pressure low and only a shower attached to the bath taps with no wall hook so you have to crouch in the bath. No plug in the basin & no toilet roll holder but that is the norm in most African countries I have visited. But rooms are superb as is the hotel.
Meals are massive and the Eusbett Special Fried Rice is to be recommended but you will do well to finish it. It does make a very good cold lunch next day. Will be trying the fish tonight.
Main current problem appears to be the booking system. Failed to get through on the phone for 3 days. Booked on the internet and on arrival there was no trace of my booking. They did however give me the Presidential Suite for one night which was superb. The French guests checking in next day had exactly the same problem but the hotel found them alternative accommodation nearby.
Currently the hotel has no lift so climbing to the 4th floor is a bit of a challenge if over 60 and not very fit. Work has however started and the lift, assuming it arrives from China, should be installed by Dec 2012.
Hotel is very busy and service slow but all staff very friendly and welcoming. They could increase their income substantially if the staff noticed when you were waiting for service.
Probably the only place to stay in Sunyani.
Have not tried the Hotels WiFi Internet but signal strength high. I am using a MTN plug in modem which works superbly.
