A nice experience. Good food. Friendly and helpful staff. Was a last minute booking and the place was full. The food portions were slightly on the small size but adequate. Looks like the pub has been refurbished recently and they have done a great job, a lovely garden with seating. Games for the kids are a pool table plus free table football where we replayed the world cup semi and England won 9 - 4 against a very poor spinny Croatia side.

Wanted to get this off my chest as heading down to Cornwall again soon:- last year booked in January for a meal in July for our holds (no I don't have OCD). On arrival we were told by the young waitress close to tears it had been a very busy day and there was virtually no food left but they would see what they could find!! Talk about loaves and fishes! We had one skinny fish between 5 of us.(Did wonder if kitchen waste bin bin was now empty). Owner/manager just managed to drag himself away from the bar and informed us he was unaware of the situation. Offered us free coffees! Good job my resus mandatory training was up to date 'cus husband and feisty best friend were close to cardiac arrests. Buck your ideas up Barley Sheaf and don't act like cavemen. Try on-line shopping. You are sitting on a goldmine. From SlimJo

Went there for an evening meal as it was dog friendly. Turned up and placed opp the toilet at a table with no chairs so told to go up by the pool table. The seats were stained with a sticky table with empty glasses, the menu was on tatty stained Paper which was over priced. One person on the bar and presentation was poor throughout. So we got up and walked out and vowed to never return.
