“Pretty and peaceful”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

All but destroyed during the war and still undergoing restoration but the rooms that are open to the public are beautifully restored. Opulent whilst retaining a homely feel. No queues and crowds – what a relief! Photography allowed inside. Well worth a visit.

“The Jewel”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Pavlovsk does not have the tourists that descend on the Catherine Palace, but what a gem! This palace is nestled in a beautiful park and is another example of Russian expertise in reconstruction and preservation.

“Different style palace for the others”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

This palace is in the classic style, beautiful in a very different way from all the other major palaces in the St. Petersburg area. We were lucky to have visited the Palace when the number of tourists was low, probably because it was first thing in the morning. Another of the incredible and amazing Russian palaces in this area.

“A Vastly Underated experience by Tourists”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

This thousand acre park and Palace are beautiful, serene. This is the home of Tsar Paul and his wife Maria Fyodorovna. She loved this place and nurtured it for another 28 years after her husbands assassination. Everything is impeccable. The Park itself would be worth the trip out of St petersburg and lots of Russians make a day trip out of enjoying this park with loads of trails, hills and lakes.

“The wonder of 'new build'”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

This palace was a shell after WW2 - so it was reassuring to see all the building and craft skills still exist.

The gardens are beautiful.
