The Roman castrum Arutela is a historical monument near the town Călimănești. The building lies on the left bank of the Olt River, nearby the Cozia Monastery and the Turnu hydropower complex.
It was built in 137 - 138 AD, and was mentioned until 220 - 223 AD. The fortress was built on the Traian way, the road to the north, to Sarmisegetuza, the main city of the ancient country of Dacia.
