We arrived late in the evening, and were given a very warm welcome. We had dinner, which came in generous portions, and was very palatable. The room was comfortable, and warm on arrival. Breakfast the following morning was excellent; there was a variety of fresh fruit, pastries and cereals, as well as a good choice of cooked breakfast.
We had to cut our visit short due to the worsening weather. We hope to return soon so we can make more of the beautiful location.
Thank you to all the staff, and Gaynor for making us welcome.

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights using the Groupon deal. I must say we all had a lovely time! The owner, Gaynor, greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality. Our rooms were large - both with en-suite bathrooms. We were allowed to each bring a dog with us to stay, and the nearby walks were beautiful. We used this as a base for exploring the Lake District - Kendal is about 20 mins away and Lake Windermere is about 20 mins from there. We were also close to the Yorkshire Dales and Hawes was only a few minutes drive away.

The food in the Inn was an absolute delight! The pies were home-made with real pastry! The chips were hand-cut, the portions were generous and the prices really quite competitive. We ate in the Inn both nights and both times we were very pleased!

The young girls working there were all very pleasant and professional, some grumpy locals seemed set on moaning about everything. When a couple of seemingly local men walked in they were greeted by a pleasant young girl asking them if they were dining that evening, only to be responded to with a shirty, "No... we're drinking actually". The poor young lass then professionally and pleasantly showed them to a table and lit them a candle (much better service than most pubs!!) and wasn't thanked in the slightest - only moaned at for the lack of beer mats!! Who wants those old smelly bits of sodden cardboard on their dining table anyway?!?

It strikes me that some people have made up their minds to be awkward and no matter how much Gaynor and her pleasant staff bend over backwards to please people there will always be those who moan regardless! I would encourage people to ignore any petty reviews and try the Nateby Inn - you really will have a warm welcome, good hearty home-cooked food and a restful night's sleep! Perfect!

Booked this after seeing a deal on Groupon and it was worth every penny and more........

After reading some amazing reviews and the odd bad one could not wait to give it ago ourselves, contacted the hotel via email to book and got an immediate and very helpful response. Arrived to a warm welcome by staff and walked in to a newly decorated warm room (thankfully as it had been snowing). Had food at the hotel on the first evening and was excellent, the owner Gaynor come and introduced herself and asked if everything was ok. Then someone who deserves a special mention is Hannah B, not only was she excellent in every possible way she was also amazing with our 8 month old daughter who loved her to bits. Again in the morning was welcomed down by staff and served an amazing breakfeast with an excellent selection, staff could not do enough for us. I will be booking this again when the warmer weather comes for our wee family. Again would like to say a special thank you to Gaynor and all the staff, especially Hannah B for an amazing couple of days, I can not recommend the Nateby Inn enough. Hope to see you all again soon, Damien, Jemma and Baby Lucy.

We have just returned from a lovely few days here with our German shepherd. Gaynor and the staff are friendly and welcoming and gave us lots of useful information on the local area, we especially enjoyed our walk to the nine standards on a beautiful snowy day :) The food is delicious and the bar area cosy with a roaring fire. We will definately be returning as the location is excellent, an ideal base for a walking holiday :) Thanks again for a great stay!

We stayed around the 7th-8th of January, and couldn't have been more impressed with every aspect of the holiday, the welcome from Gaynor was fantastic; the service of putting champagne/flowers/chocolates in your room on request is also brilliant and made the stay extra special!
The room was quaint but presented impeccably - very clean, as was the en suite, the bed was extremely comfortable, so much so that we over-slept and missed breakfast on both days ! However, Gaynor was fantastic and served us despite it being past breakfast hours as our food had already been prepared - we found that all of the staff went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.
After eating in the restaurant on the first night, and experiencing the quality of both food and staff, we changed our plans and decided to eat here on our second night as well; there was a wide range of food on the menu and everything we tried was delicious which made the prices even more impressive. The staff were also brilliant : talkative, professional and quick.
We could not disagree more with the review by 'steved01', every bit of the holiday was fantastic and were pleasantly surprised after being worried that this would be small b+b used purely by walkers, we found plenty to do and see.

Couldn't thank Gaynor and her staff more, and would highly recommend the Nateby Inn to anyone, we can't wait to come and stay again !
