“Clean, Friendly and good food and beer”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

We were 2 couples (and a dog) on a 2 night stay just for a break in early November. The welcome we received by Gaynor was second to none, we arrived early but were shown to rooms without fuss. Rooms were cosy, spotlessly clean and warm, just what you want if walking in the Lake District in November. We booked a table for evening meal, and sat in the very cosy beamed bar/restaurant (new restaurant being refurbished at the time), a real fire blazing and warming the full area. Bar was well stocked and a smashing pint of Black Sheep (served in Black Sheep glass every time) pleased me. We decided on starters and main meal, food was home cooked, very tasty and substantial enough to feed hungry folk after a days walking. We had a well behaved Staffy dog (Beau) with us and she was so much the star of the show, she was spoiled rotten by ALL the staff, in particular Gaynor and her girls Morgan and Jasmine. The staff were also very friendly with us humans and introduced themselves by name which i thought a great personal touch. When we left, it did feel like we were leaving friends behind, and i'm sure Morgan will miss Beau, so we do plan to visit again. Wonderful Location, Bar, Rooms, Owners, Staff and Family.

Room Tip: Ask Gaynor for anything you particularly require.

We stayed three nights here and we shall not forget the caring attitude towards ourselves and other guests. Every effort was made to make us feel comfortable and to accommodate our needs. For example, Gaynor privided an early Sunday morning cooked breakfast for us before departure.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were well-equipped and very clean,The chocolates and toiletries were much appreciated.
The dinners were excellent and the menu well balanced. The fish and chips were divine!
Breakfasts were brilliant and offered a wide choice from the full English to a healthy range of yougurts, cerals and fruit.
Thank you. We shall be back!

We stayed at the Nateby Inn for one night after deciding to go away last minute, we have two dogs and wanted somewhere where there were nice walks and was dog friendly. Our room was cosy cottage style decor and beautiful bedding and very clean, our evening meal was very relaxed in the restaurant area and the staff very friendly. The food was delicious and sourced locally which was good. I had the free range chicken stuffed with goats cheese and wrapped in bacon, it was scrummy. THe breakfast was also delicious, would definitely come here again.

On arrival, we were made straight away to feel welcome by both the landlady and staff. Our room was beautiful, warm and clean and tastefully decorated with a beautiful view from the window of the dales. We had an eve meal which was excellent value for money. The staff were so so friendly and made us feel like old friends returning. There was eve entertainment on which we were invited to join which was absolutely fantastic. Special thanks to Chelsea for making us feel.a real part of everything.
Breakfast was really well presented and if you were really hungry you.could have had a real feast.
This was a last minute booking for us as stopover from travelling home from Scotland. What a fantastic find. Thanks to the owners and their staff, staying st the Nateby Inn really finished our holiday off. Thank you everyone for making our stay so memorable.
This is somewhere I would recommend to all ages and we will definitely be retuning.

Found this gem on the internet, but then booked the wrong night but when we turned up the staff made us welcome and when my error was found, we we're lucky that there was room at the Inn...
Bailey (Dog) was welcomed and the staff made his stay effortless, (Looking after his food in the fridge). The food was excellent in particular breakfast were the new very young member of staff paid particular attention to Bailey... Who left the Inn banger happy...!

Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review.
I must admit I was a little puzzled when the staff kept telling me you had checked in.
I'm not sure how enjoyed themselves the most at breakfast Morgan or Bailey
So pleased you enjoyed your evening meal.
Hope to see you all again
