I visited Grenada in February of this year and this was one of the places i chose to experience. I went with my mother and friends. We made a reservation at the restaurant and we also wanted to tour the estate. Unfortunately we ran late for our reservation but the staff was so gracious and kind! When we got there we were greeted by a pleasant young lady and we were shown a delicious buffet! Everything tasted great! We even got a tour even though we were late. The guide stayed back just for us and the stores on the compound accommodated us. It was just an all round pleasant experience with pleasant people. I especially enjoyed hearing about the chocolate making process as well seeing the museum. Great food, great history and great people.

The Belmont Estate is an excellent spot to take a mid-day break when touring the east and north of the island. The ground floor is a working coca bean plant. Local employees provide excellent explanations of the process in their real working surroundings - not a sanitised tourist setting.

The tourist shop on the first floor provides a wide range of mementoes that are almost all made locally by local craftsmen - it's good to support their local economy.

The huge restaurant can cope with the coach loads of cruise passengers but that doesn't detract from the excellent meals and excellent service offered to individual diners, touring the island by themselves.

The location is not far from the old 'Pearls' airport, the Grenada Chocolate Company and the water powered rum distillery at St. Antoine. It makes an ideal stop-over for a mid day break. We've been several times and never been disappointed.

A "nice" place to visit - but could be better.

Sadly, the staff were quite pretentious/pompous - neither attentive nor friendly, all just doing their jobs, to an acceptable standard.

The buffet lunch was OK, but some dishes were cold & lacked that 'special' Caribbean taste. Portions & prices were reasonable.

Alcohol is not available.

The Estate looked a little unenticing/run down, with poor walkways - especially in the rain.

Onward to the 'Rivers' estate.......................

Wow, what an experience, you get to see how the staff would have worked over 200 years ago then you are taken upstairs into the restaurant where the views are fantastic, the food is amazing and the staff look after you so well.
Can't wait to return. I never tire of going to Grenada.
