The rest of the Crown is made up of two Restaurant areas, both of which can be hired for Private Dining. The Oak Room, holds up to 40 seated and The Crown Room, for up to 20. Outside there is s a large terrace and secluded garden, making it ideal for families, al fresco dining in the summer months and events for up to 200 people. We had a lovely lunch here, roast beef with so many trimmings ... A huge selection of freshly cooked vegetables, beautifully cooked roast beef generously sliced and extra gravy. Puddings all made by the Chef, Anthea who excels in all levels. Service was flawless and the atmosphere lovely. Thanks very much.

This place is under new management, and is substantially improved all round - a wider range of beers as there is no tie now, and a new one to sample each Friday. The restaurant has reopened, and for £10-15 excellent, home-cooked style meals are served, in portions to satisfy even a hungry teenager. The quality is demonstrated by the high level of local support the pub now enjoys, so consider booking in advance

Another reason to use the restaurant is the setting - a purpose built extension, using traditional carpentry techniques. The restaurant is well appointed and feels spacious. Wine is sensibly priced. Our waitress, a young girl from the village, was very helpful when we were there.

This is the sort of local business that deserves to succeed, and it is well worth a drive to try it out we thought.

Wide range of drinks for adults and children, bar snacks and big TV. The wood burner adds to the cosy atmosphere, in the bar, and restaurant. Pub grub is served in the restaurant, or bar, which ever you prefer. Perfect for all the family.

We came here in late March. Seems as though there has been some management upheaval. No apparent food but a lot of signs for a 'race night' suggesting efforts to revive fortunes. This is a pleasant small village in an area where we have friends and relatives. Hope that any frailty in this business is soon sorted and the pub and former restaurant soon become an active part of community and through trade again.

Just to let you know that the pub is now under new management and the restaurant has reopened. Food is available Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtime for now but we are hoping to serve food other evenings and lunchtimes, in due course.

Seems to be reviving. Well organised simple choice meals in jolly pub with friendly staff. Keep it up. Like the no nonsense pub website. Wouldn't have come in without knowing about the veggie options.
