We stayed for one night with the Eat&Stay Free offer, and for this is was quite a good deal. There was a wedding at the same time and the place is clearly advertised mostly as wedding venue. We stayed in the Annex, the room was ok, the only improvement could be a double mattress in a double bed instead of two singles and it could also be harder. This could make the night at ths quiet location more relaxing. The way to the Spa was quite dark, the lighting could be improved as other reviews also say. We went also to the spa, which was good, we returned the next morning again as it was raining all day and we were ok with using the spa even after check out. A sign for the switches of the Jacuzzi could e helpful, otherwise you could have the impression, it is not working.
The food was good, we were quite happy, service was well timed and friendly.
We would come back, if again in the area and looking for a quiet and relaxing night.
Scoring is based on the deal we got, for which it really is very good value.

This is a tired, cold, poorly maintained mid range hotel, the staff do their best to to make you welcome but the infrastructure lets them down badly. Ran a training course there this week & had nothing but complaints so won't be using again, heating & showers absolutly unacceptable. Lots of better places available so spend your money elsewhere, good staff though

LHMS, CEO of Lester Hotels at Ramada Resort Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel & Spa, responded to this reviewResponded December 20, 2012

Thank you for your review and whilst I am delighted about your comments about the team at the hotel I am concerned about the problems you encountered and I hope you will accept my apologies.

The Cwrt Bleddyn was recently acquired by an overseas company who are finalising plans for refurbishment works to take place in early 2013 which I feel will address the points you raise. However Cwrt Bleddyn is a very popular venue for functions and events and I have asked David Spoor the new GM to contact you in order that he may discuss this in more detail.

Have a wonderful Christmas and thank you for the feedback......the hotel is already working on it!!!

Kindest

David

My husband & I held our wedding reception at Cwrt Bleddyn last weekend and it was lovely! I have to thank all the staff for such a great day, especially Alison the wedding planner as most of the organisation was done over email & a couple of very short visits as we live in scotland.
We had the winter wedding package and it was really good value, the food was lovely, hog roast in the evening was yummy & the flower package was beautiful!
My husband stayed in room 6 the night before and found it to be better than the bridal suite we had for the wedding night! My only complaint about the bridal suite is that being located in the grounds of the hotel it would not have been a nice walk back to our room in the evening if it had been raining, luckily it was just a bit cold! The bridal suite was lovely, 4 poster bed was huge!! Only slight issue was the shower wasn't great (leaked over the side of the bath), but the old fashion style was a nice touch.
Breakfast was lovely, alth on sunday morning it was difficult to find someone to order our cooked breakfast & was slightly disappointed that tea/coffee wasnt served to the table and there were no croissants left!
Over all we had a lovely time & would recommend it as a reception venue to others getting married!

I hope the title says ''thank you Wales''. Thank you also to the Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel for a lovely weekend break.
The staff, as always at Best Western, went above and beyond; perhaps they have a secret stash and share them between hotels. The Hotel is peaceful, slightly off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Set in wooded area of rolling hills the frontage is ''olde worlde'' and quaint but with a striking colour render. The courtyard enclosed on three sides must be wonderful in the summer as would be the stream that meanders through. The interior looks historical with Armour, Tapestries and wood panelling and is very cosy. The room was generous, comfortable and warm and the bathroom was well designed and appointed. The bar/lounge was the heart of the hotel, what first appeared to be a just a library, had shelves upon shelves of wines; something for all palates and pockets. The food was excellant(especially the Welsh Lamb) popular standards cooked and presented with slyle and elegance.
I would advise checking before booking if you have mobility problems.
I make no apology for again blowing the trumpet for Best Western, they have never let us down; none of the budget chains could offer such difference of character as well as standards.
I invite any check into my Bona Fides, we are just a ''mature'' couple who like a bit more than a bed and a meal.

Location superb, architecture very good but unfortunately it stops there as the hotel definitely gives off the image of a business in decline and its a shame as this hotel has so much to offer. The staff are all very nice and try so hard but it's the little things that let them down. Having said all of this I will return and continue to return as the location is fabulous.

booked in for a wedding party. on arrival it was very dark and had a job to find the reception due to the poor lighting outside, booked in and told we are in the annex, and if you go outside and turn left and follow the path round you we see your accomadation. again we had a problem finding it due to the poor lighting and lack of signs. we was not told that you could drive round to the annex carpark. it was raining and having to carry your luggage it was not very pleasant.other than that all was fine, but had better service at the western parkway hotel in cwmbran in the past. my advice if you arrive in the dark is to take a torch so you can find your way around

Recently stayed at the Cwrt Bleddyn for a short break. Staff were very polite and helpful. The room was a bit dated but it was clean and towels were changed every day. The restaurant was ok but the menu was limited. Would stay here again.
