Had lunch here recently with a group of friends. Food was tasty, coffee was excellent, and would definately come back.
Just wish the portion sizes were just a fraction bigger. All in all a good place to eat whilst visting Phillip Island and the Rhyll area.

Staying for several days in the quiet sea-side town of Rhyll on Phillip Island, my wife and I decided to try a local restaurant for one of our meals. Not having made a booking, we decided to arrive early and 'try our luck' for a table for two. We were met by friendly staff and shown to a table in a good position and asked if we would like a drink before ordering. I ordered a glass of a local shiraz, reasonably priced at $7.50. She who must be obeyed stuck with the water which was supplied to the take in a chilled bottle. Looking for something a bit heartening, we chose from the 'Chef's Specials' board rather than the a-la-carte printed menu. Preferring something with a bit of a 'kick', the risotto with calamari, chorizo, cherry tomatoes, spinach, and ricotta. I was also drawn to the mussels the board promised, but unfortunately this was a 'transcription error' and my disappointment was somewhat mollified by another glass of shiraz after the matter was drawn to the attention of the management. To be fair they were very apologetic and couldn't do enough to ensure that it didn't distract from my enjoyment of the evening. By the way, the board was hastily amended as I dined. Mussels or not, the risotto was just to my liking with a good hit of chili heat from the chorizo. My better half chose the smoked chicken pasta, also from the board. This dish, combining, smoked chicken. pumpkin. olives, onion, tomatoes, roast capsicum and pesto topped off with shaved parmesan. She found the dish to her liking, although pronounced that I would find it too bland, and she was able to savor the taste of the smoked chicken meant to be the hero of the dish. Several times during our dining, our waitress attended to our table to ensure that our dining was satisfactory. Both meals were priced at a reasonable $26.50 and were ample enough that neither of us were looking for desert when asked. Good ambience, pleasant and attentive staff, great food. ps apologies for the quality of photos - iphone with no flash!

This is the third time we have dined in this restaurant and the food is always of a high standard.
4 of us ordered fish and chips with side salad and it was the best fish I had had in a long time. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service was very good.

We had a meal here nearly 9 years ago and it remained in the memory banks so when a family holiday was organised it was at the top of the list for fish and chips. We ordered a meal for 8 adults, the wait was over an hour but we had planned for that and so the fishing lines went for a swim When we sat down and ate we were not disappointed, the quality was still very good and the menu has expanded but still worth the small drive from Cowes to get it.The bonus is the view while you wait.

Went on a Saturday night without a booking. Was offered an outside table as it was very busy which was great as we had 3 children with us. Got a great view! Menu was really good and they went out of their way to accomodate my Coeliac 5 year old son. All the food was really good and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!!
