“Honeymoon Haven”
Reviewed April 11, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

When you see Willshaw on line, you know you're going to love it. When arrive, drive up to the house, you really fall in love with it!!

This was our Honeymoon, when we were originally looking for somewhere the original requirements were Hot Tub / Jacuzzi with a log fire all within walking distance from the local pub.

We got more than we thought, what we got was Jacuzzi, Log Fire, Pub within 55 steps of the front door, 64 inch plasma TV in the main bedroom, a Sauna / Wet Room, 4 Poster king Size Waterbed, a mussive kitchen with an amazing gas oven ( We stayed for 2 weeks and were inspired by Masterchef & Great British Bake Off ) , 2 Dining Rooms and a Piano!!

Amazing value for money for all of this!!

The Papermill & Old Hall serve amazing food, locally sourced, this coupled with the great welcoming staff just made our stay at Willshaw more memorable

The views around you are just amazing, do take the time to venture out, the surrounding villages with their history, Caves and Parks will make you think about ever going abroad again!!

Scott is on hand 24/7 if you need him, but to be honest Willshaw is very well equipped that you probably won't see him until you leave.

We can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning for our Anniversary next year. Be sure to ask Scott about the history of Willshaw itself!!

If you're like us and don't stay in the country very often, be mindful that many places only serve food from 12-2 then again from 5pm - that's not a criticism, it actually makes a lot of sense, so make sure you book, especially if there are more than 2 of you.

Why are you still reading this? Go and book your stay at Willshaw now!!!

“SUPERB and UNUSUAL HOUSE”
Reviewed January 30, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Willshaw is a very interesting , well equipped and unusual property. Indeed my brother who is something of a property expert/detective was fascinated trying to unravel the likely history of the building and which elements were new, which were more 1920's and which were significantly older. Whatever the past, it now boasts, in particular, a large reception room with splendid beams and which with the woodburning stove and large TV was a great focus; an excellent fully equipped kitchen, super sauna/wet room, gorgeous bathroom and an outstanding master bedroom with 4 poster water bed. The location is excellent with loads of views and walks and an excellent pub with some useful small village shops all within walking distance. My wife wanted to pack the house up and take it with us and our grandson said "this is a place for millionaires". Stay there you will not be disappointed.

“Fabulous Christmas visit!”
Reviewed January 19, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

What a beautiful house!
We stayed over Christmas, a family of four (two teenagers) and dog, the house more than lived up to our expectations.
A superb combination of old and new, from the vaulted ceiling and wood panelling in the lounge to the sauna and mood lighting throughout, a very special property.
Sky and broadband to amuse the kids and a couple of lovely pubs in very close walking distance for a little adult escape time.
Thoroughly recommended for families and couples alike.

“Superb luxury holiday cottage”
Reviewed January 18, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Our young family of five had an excellent time at Willshaw. It boasts superb facilities including a four poster water bed in master bedroom, jacuzzi bath, sauna and wet room.
The kitchen is big and has choice of cookers too including a gas range style cooker. With three decent sized double / twin rooms, dishwasher and washing machine, everything is catered for.
There's a huge 3D TV in the massive lounge which boasts luxurious leather reclining settees to seat the whole family and guests if required plus full Sky TV package and Sky TV in all rooms if you need it.
For those preferring a night out in the picturesque hamley of Whitehough, next to Chinley, its garden gate leads down to the Paper Mill Inn and Old Hall Inn where we had a superb Sunday lunch.
On top of this, owner Scott, was extremely helpful with directions and making sure everything we needed was catered for so thanks for that!
Would love to come back!

“Lovely New Year getaway with friends”
Reviewed January 5, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Willshaw. The cottage itself was extremely comfortable and well equipped; a perfect base from which to do as much or as little as you want. With the comfortable beds, Jacuzzi, massive TV, reclining sofa and log fire we erred on doing very little a lot of the time. The owner Scott was very helpful without being intrusive. From the moment I first made inquiries about the property until the end of our stay Scott was prompt to respond and very accommodating - for which I am very grateful. The location was great: there are a few walks accessible from the door, and is well positioned to get to other parts of the Peaks or to various towns and cities via car or train. We visited both the local pubs (both situated about a minutes walk from the front door). The Old Hall Inn is great for hearty food (though when we visited on New Years day evening they had run out of a couple of items) and the Paper Mill Inn has an incredible range of beers and really friendly service. Our only regret was not discovering it sooner in our stay! Overall, Willshaw exceeded my expectations and I would be delighted to recommend as a place to stay.
