We enjoyed it. It wasn't crazy crowded and the water was warm. Got there around 9am and it was empty. However, by 10, a lot more people had arrived. We stayed in front of the restaurant and had free chairs because we ate lunch there. Beers are cheap and quite a picturesque place.

We were staying in central Khao Lak and decided to spend a day at Coconut beach based on TripAdvisor reviews.
This beach is nice because it’s not built up with resorts. Just a few in the sand restaurants, bars and massage places. The sand is fine and white. The water nice (but not crystal clear) and clean. You can rent sun loungers. But if you are like us in search of shade make your way north along beach towards white sand beach and there is area with just forest behind, no vendors and heaps of shade from trees. Perfect. Had lunch at Boatyard. The best lunch we had in Thailand. Cost us 300 baht in taxi to Prakarang Cape and we walked along beach to Coconut. (But don’t come at hide tide as is tricky). I heard fro others that sand at Coconut much nicer than white sand beach.

Gorgeous, clean, quiet. Can rent lounge chairs for 50 bhat. Great restaurants, bars, massages. Plenty of shade if desired. One of our favorite beaches in Khao Lak.

Having had a run round in the car and looked at several local beaches this one looked the best for us with nice soft white sand choice of bars and restaurants providing sun beds aswel as food and drinks. It turned out to be the best by far and we ended up spending six days here in our two week holiday. The beach itself is about 1 KM. long curving round a nice bay and when the tide is out there is a very wide stretch of soft white sand to lay on,when we were there the water never came any closer than about 20 MTRS to the tree line so always some beach even at high tide but it does look at certain phases of the moon the tide goes all the way up to the tree line vastly reducing the beach size so may be best to check tide times and levels at these times. As you go onto the beach the first restaurant you come to is the largest called The Boatyard having by far the most sunbeds and shades and the best facilities with good seating under the trees to eat and nice clean toilets. The sunbeds are charged at 200 THB per day for 2 beds and a brolly but free if you eat in the restaurant which I think is very fair. The water is easy to get into as it slopes very gently and is shallow quite a long way out though there are some areas of stones and shells that can be a bit sharp on the feet. The sea was also nice and warm the only drawback was the presence of stinging jellyfish and most people who went in beyond knee deep ended up getting stung.the stings are not dangerous just painful.Apart from the jellyfish it is an absolutely beautiful beach with great facilities and I would highly recommend it.

We hired a car for a few days so went exploring from Khao Lak. I just regret that we had not visited Coconut Beach on previous trips to the area; it is how you imagine a perfect tropical beach. White powdery sand, blue sea, warm water and lovely scenery. Even pretty fishing boats bobbing on the water. If you eat at the restaurants you can use the sun beds free of charge. There are toilets and showers behind the Boatyard restaurant. Plenty of shade under the trees as well. Take a trip - it's gorgeous.
