We stumbled on this place during a rain storm. We saw a lot of touristy looking places in Azoia and wanted something more authentic, so we opted for this cafe - and it was just what we wanted! The people in the cafe looked a bit confused by our presence, but the hostess was very nice and spoke pretty good English. We had a nice turkey stew and and a breaded chicken dish. The servings were enormous, and both entrees, along with a beer, a water, an espresso, some cheese, bread, and olives cost only 17 euros. It was a great value and a very tasty meal. Recommended on your way in or out of Cabo da Roca!

We found this place by accident. We'd decided to watch the sun set at Cabo da Roca (the most westerly point in continental Europe). We thought some wine and cheese would be the perfect accompaniment. In tiny Azoia we found this cafe and the lovely lady behind the bar uncorked the wine, sliced the cheese, produced some plastic glasses and smilingly sent us on our merry way.

One hour later, we landed back for hot chocolate... But we realised that we might be hungry if we waited to have dinner in Lisbon. So we ordered a platter of mussels, prawns, sausage, cheese and various main courses with a delicious local green wine. The food was simple, homemade and delicious. The seafood was finger-licking good. We couldn't decide on a dessert so they brought out some of the typical custard tarts that are so popular in Portugal. Perfect!!! And all for €12 a head. The owner and his wife are country folk - charming, entertaining and real. The place is packed to the rafters with rooster memorabilia. You can ask the owner about it and he will gladly oblige. Go! The sea air gives you the nibbles and this is a perfect one-stop-shop for sating your hunger.
