“a sunday afernoon”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

We took our youngest grand children to Leeds/Bradford Airport for a bit of plane spotting, missing sunday lunch we went into Murgatroyds. After a brief wait for a table we enjoyed some very fine fish and chips, worth the wait.A restaurant that is good at what it does.On leaving there was a long line of people waiting for a table

“A Pleasure to go back”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

we returned to Murgatroyds about 2 months ago after a long spell of illness and we were suprised the friendiness and the service of the staff was as good or better we have not (as far as i know) met the manager so i can not pass any comments about him.The restaurant was clean and tidy and still had a welcome feel about it and the food was still to high standerd it was.One of the reviewers said the staff were busy talking to the customers thay might have been but it was nice and no one had to wait long as the service was great.I always say(and i get into trouble) if you have any coplaints do it whilst you are there not write it up on the net.We live about 45 minutes drive away but i still think it is worth the trip

“Great Value take away fish and chips”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

I got off a plane, having been out of the UK for a while and headed to the nearest fish & chip shop.

Great fish, fresh chips, curry sauce - made me feel glad to be back!

Can't fault it - except that they had run out of bread buns, so no chip bitty.

“Great fish n chips by far”
Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

Had lunch there today best fish I have tasted mushy peas great. Could not fault the food or service very pleasent staff. However the average age in there must be about 70 was like gods waiting room and the yorkshire tea was strong enough to stain your teath.
take time out to eat there as it is worth it.

“Maybe the best fish and chips in England”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Living in Lancashire, I'm always on a mission to find decent Yorkshire fish and chips which is drivable. The quality of the fish and chips at Murgatroyds is amazing. I've been a few times now and the quality has never changed.

Negatives... Parking can be a bit tight. Can be very busy especially if a coach or two has turned up. Some of the booth style seating is a little tight.
