“Good stop for lunch”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

I would happily eat there again, nothing special but the food was reasonable and plentiful. Nice place to sit outside as we travelled around NZ, service friendly without being overly swift. No problems at all, perfectly pleasant.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

Expensive food which I don't mind if the food is good. I had a bacon & mushroom melt. The bread was really hard & the mushrooms were hardly cooked. The lemon curd & chocolate mud cake was quite dry. Wont be going there again.

“COULD DO BETTER”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Looked promising walking in -large cabinet of enticing food and what appeared to be a selection of artisan breads. Friendly and engaging staff and buzzy mix of passers by and locals boded well. Large cups of Flat Whites from local Grinders blend arrived in good time but dissapointed as wissy - obviously single shots -milk overly hot and thin. This experience was then completely overshadowed by a waitress who while cleaning the next table sprayed it (not the cloth) with what cold be only described as Dettol or similar.. The stink which normally is associated with bathroom floors stayed with us to the bitter end. The Meals arrived -Road trip sized portions but the bread supposed to be ciabatta for at least one of the dishes was just soft white loaf. Scrambled eggs overdone with telltale puddle of liquid and in both instances undercooked bacon. Could have been tempted by the sweet stuff but the promise of another caffeine hit with the heft of a damp tissue had us leaving wondering what could have been but comforted in the knowledge you would never catch anything nasty from the tables!

“LACKS IN CUSTOMER SERVICES FROM THE GROUND STAFF TO THE DIRECTOR”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

TERRIBLE SERVICE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT

I put through a formal complaint before the May school holidays in regards to the treatment by the Duty Manager towards a party of 4. I received a reply from the Director Sharon only after I had sent an email asking "What does it take to get a reply from the Cabbage Tree". The children went back to school on the 6th May. Considering the seriousness of my complaint towards these people I am astounded by the lack of attention to a complaint.

DON'T DINE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT UNLESS YOU LIKE BE TREATED LIKE A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN!!!
