This place has all the magic ingredients, water, boats of all types, piles of nets and pots, more cafes you can shake a stick at, plus two harbour arms to stroll along and look at the sea, the cliffs and of course the other people doing the same as you. All very accessible and If you want to spend more than an hour or so and you are fully mobile, park in one of the two long stay car parks back near the road into West Bay, it's only a short walk to the harbour or beach.

We're very luck to live not far from this cosy place, We treat our selves to fish and chips followed by a gorgeous ice cream from Baboo Gelato. If weather ok we'll finish off with screaming in the waves with a pebble chucking contest, the simple things are the best and most memorable.

Had a morning stroll in the sunshine taking in the fresh sea air and the surrounding views (see pictures)

I found it to be a great place to enjoy the views of the cliffs and the sea and could have sat for many a tranquil hour with a flask and sandwiches and and a good book.

There is a nice selection of shops and eating places in the area - recommend Rise for a coffee and pastry as a treat after your walk.

Local parking is plentiful either using cash or pay by phone option

We enjoyed walking here close to sunset, where it offered fantastic views. We also fished here and caught a lot of mackerel, which was dinner! Also interesting to sit and watch the fishing boats come in. There were younger children with parents also using this to go crabbing.

We enjoyed a day in and around West Bay harbour, including the wonderful cliff-top and beach walks to either side of the harbour. The area was clean and well cared for, and the people in the pubs and shops were friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a whole day. We were surprised to see six lobster or crab pots on the beach, and thought that the beach clearing equipment was a brilliant idea. However, it would be great to have bins at the start and finish of the cliff top walk as we picked up a good bagful of plastic, which we had to take back to West Bay to get rid of.

West Bay is a lovely place to walk, snack and people watch. Lots of interesting things to visit. The little shopping place at the old customs house is fascinating .

Stayed in one of the hotels in the village offering views over the harbour. For a mid October day it was warm and sunny. There are plenty of places to get ice creams, teas or fish and chips. West bay is also a good place to visit along the coastal path.

A pleasant harbour with several car parks charging about £1 per hour. There are lots of shacks selling food from ice creams to fish and chips although in October many were closed during the week. There is a nice promenade to walk along with many seats facing the sea to sit and rest. I'm sure that it would be very busy in summer months.
