We booked a 3 night stay from the Star Tribune Golden Gavel auction. Very famil oriented place. Friendly staff. They try really hard. But it seems on a budget.

They really need to update the decor. Its like travelling back to the early to mid 70s. It could be in a Coen Brothers movie (ala Fargo)

This property is VERY outdated!!! It's an old resort and NOTHING has been done to the cabins since they were built....dirty, musty, old. Yet they charge hundreds of dollars per night. On a better note, the staff was nice, great pool for the kids with other fun activities, too. There was a juggling show that they LOVED!
It would be a great place to stay if they renovated!!!!

My sister and I went to Cragun's for a girls weekend. We didn't really know what to expect. The place is huge! Once we got to our room we couldn't believe how big it was. There was a vanity area to get ready and an area that had a fridge, sink and another mirror. It's perfect for two people getting ready at the same time. There was a couch and chair in front of the fireplace. There was a table and 3 chairs also. Two big beds and a big dresser to put all of your luggage.
We made reservations for the girlfriends spa package. Loved it!
I had a hot stone massage for the first time. It was so nice and relaxing. I plan on asking for Sheri M. the next time we go.
It's nice when you check into the hotel, you receive a dining options pamphlet and an agenda of activities. We went to the comedy show on Saturday night, "Stage Benders", they were very funny! It was nice to have activities on site.
We plan on making that an annual girls trip. Now that we've been there the rest of our family is interested in going next year.

My husband and I recently spent a weekend at Cragun's and had a wonderful time! We attended the "Romantic Weekend" that included a wine dinner and comedy show. Everything was top notch! Additional goodies that were included in our stay were a free in-room movie, a $25 gift card and free drink coupons. We also enjoyed a number of services at the Spa.

A few months ago I went to Cragun's with a girlfriend for their "Spa Weekend." We were totally pampered and would recommend a spa weekend to anyone.

During both stays we ate at the Legacy golf course which has fabulous food! I would not miss eating here if you have a chance.

The service is wonderful here! Everyone we met was happy and accomodating. I cannot recommend Cragun's enough for either family fun, a couple's weekend or a fun girlfriend getaway!

When we first decided to write this review, it was to complain, but Gragun's won me and my wife over before the end of the trip.
Our first impression wasn't good. When we arrived after driving over three hours in a winter snow storm. We were told the SPA was closed because no one could get into work. Now this wasn't a problem in itself but what upset us was no one called or emailed us to let us know. The front desk didn't seem too concerned of even care about this. After trying to contact the spa which they told us to do we only got a voice message telling us it was closed and they would call back on Saturday. We then received a call from the Resort Manager, who told us the SPA Director M. J. Minkel was willing to come in and do our spa treatments. My wife said that would be great as long as she didn't have to drive to far in the Bad Weather. We went for our treatments and met M. J. who is a Delightful Lady. She was very apologetic and told us that we were supposed to have been called about the closing. M. J. was off that day to help with a funeral and after our treatments she was going back to help clean up. Our treatments with M. J. were absolutely wonderful.
Then after she told us that they were free do to the mix-up. We had SPA treatments the next two days and they were also great. The whole SPA staff was wonderful. We would both recommend the Hot Stone Massage to everyone. It is wonderful and very reasonably priced. The resort also provides some fun activities for guests. The Horse wagon ride was fun. Here is how we would rate Craguns broken down.

Front Desk -3 Average
SPA -5 ++ Excellent
Rooms -4 above average (need to be updated but big and very clean)
Activities - 4 above Average
Value - 5 excellent.

Overall we would recommend Craguns and would return. We truly believe it is a Very Nice run Family resort and the communications problems were addressed.

Thanks,
Joe and Sheryl
