I stayed at Safari this past weekend and had a wonderful experience. I read many of the other reviews by customers last year, and I must say whatever issues that there were have been resolved. The rooms were clean, the bar was stocked and the food was fresh and amazing. The staff member who greeted us when we arrived took care of my friends and I the whole weekend. He waited on us hand and foot, he organized outings for us, taxis and he showed us where to catch a football game in a village close by. I would definitely recommend Safari to anyone. The prices for rooms were reasonable and the cost of food was what I had expected to pay in that type of setting.

Room Tip: Make sure to be very clear about which room you would like when you book. Call back to double check.

We spent 7 wonderful days at the Safari Beach Lodge and we cannot relate to the very negative reviews made previously on this page. The beach and the lodge are stunning, the food tasty and most of the staff very friendly. A bigger selection of fresh fruit (juices) would be great.

We enjoyed staying at the SAfari Beach Lodge. The rooms are all with ocean view and directly at the beach. The only thing we did not like so much was that we could not really look the door well when we stayed inside. We did not feel extremely safe although we did not think that anything would ever happen there. Also the food was simply amazing but a bit expensive. What we liked most was the beach and the beach chairs we got under a little wooden house just for ourselves. It was all very neat and cute!

The room with bathroom and shower was not very expensive and only slightly higher than at green turtle lodge which is a lot less clean and neat. WE payed 60 Ghana Cedis for one night in a double self contained room.

What we did not like so much was that we were the only guests who stayed there. Therefore the staff was constantly following us. We also did not have any possibility to choose our dinner since there was only one meal. It was very delicious but not so fun if you don't eat fish. We also did not like that they asked as every five minutes if we would stay another night although we were the only guests. When we were at the beach they always came to see if everything is ok and sat behind us and watched us. That was kind of creepy.

But all in all it was a very nice hotel and we would definitely go there again if there were some more guests at the same time!

Room Tip: The self contained doubles for 60 cedis are great. They are a bit cheaper than the suites but I think the only difference is that they don't have private sunbeds and are a bit behind the suites.

What an absolute NIGHTMARE!!!

This could have been one of the most amazing places on earth, but the resort was sold and the currently "management" leaves a lot to be desired!

We couldn't understand why it was so easy to book a room at this resort over a high-demand period like Easter vacation - that was, until we arrived.

On arrival, you can immediately tell that the place is badly neglected and not very well run. We were "peered at" by three scaggly looking "gentlemen" as we park our vehicle at the entrance. Only to discover that these guys were in fact the "chef", the "helper" and a "hanger on"!! The path leading to the restaurant was dark and dinghy and on arrival we were not exactly sure where to check-in and who to speak to.

Our first evening we ordered the "extravagant lobster", but as soon as it arrived, we realized that the menu detailed on the website was a cruel enticement that did not materialize. Instead we were served a heap of stodgy rice and two chunks of lobster in the shell!

Our room looked like it once held the rustic charm promised by the website but that must have been a very LONG time ago. The "eco toilets" with the "organic ash" were in fact smell invested pits with heaven alone know what potential disease lurked down the deep, dark chasm!!

By light of day, the stark (and frightening) reality hit! The beach loungers were missing a number of slates making it impossible to lie comfortably at the beach side. We requested cushions for loungers and received paper thin "things" which really made no difference. The once charming and beautiful rest spots were now nothing other than piles of rotting wood and ramshackled arrangement of furnishings.

Lunch menu was written on a strip of paper torn from an exercise book. The menu would probably have tasted better than the lunch itself. The less said the better. Suffice to say there was no "reduction" "infusion" or anything else remotely exotic like that!

Late in the afternoon, I headed to the "bar" for a coke. Beside the fact the there were only two dusty bottles on the shelf, nothing else indicated that this was indeed a bar. In addition, to my horror, I found the staff and their children invading the tranquil space of some other guests who were trying to relax and have a quite afternoon. Only to discover later, from the guests we we befriended, that they were listening to the staff complain and trying to give them tips on how to run a hospitality facility!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We left the next day and will defintely NOT be going back - neither will our friends, family and anyone else that we come in contact with.

What a disasterous pity - the potential of this place is HUGE!!

Room Tip: Ask where the closest hotel is...book a room ther
