“Excellent, simply excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

It was our best dinner in Tuscany and even Italy during a long trip. Each dish was better than the other and the wines (mainly chianti of course) were well matched. The fresh pasta was very tasty, and the boar stew was to die for and the rabbit rolls very just as good.

Definitely worth a drive.

“Great food and best value; highlights - trippa alla fiorentina and tiramisu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Had dinner on two different evenings at this Osteria. Reservations are highly advisable. The cold cuts appetizer was the best out of a number of restaurants we've been in the area. They also have a number of artigianale beers and although you are in a wine country, if you like beer, I would recommend you try one of the about 10 or so very unique beers available on the menu. The house wine is also good, so is the grappa. Food we had: Tuscan pasta (pici) in garlic and cheesy sauce - good; porc in tomato sauce - good; trippa alla fiorentina - the best I had; lamb chops - only OK. Tiramisu - best we ever had; panna cota - very good. Best of all is the price which was extremely reasonable, BEST VALUE for the food we had in about two weeks of restaurants in Tuscany. Highly recommended when in the area.

For pranza on 15/10/12 fabulous involtini eggplant, ricotta, fresh tomato and olive followed by primi pappardelle with cinghiale ragu. Heaven on earth !! Dolce pannacotta with berries a perfect finish.

“Not a Bore (boar).”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

If you are anywhere near Lucarelli stop for lunch or even dinner it's a bit out of the way but worth searching out. Friendly personal service good pasta and the wild boar stew is great. This establishment is in the heart of a fantastic wine area so make sure you ask for wine from local producers.

“chianti favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

We are locals and this is one of our favorite places here round. There is a nice garden in the summer, the host (Paolo) is very kind and polite, the food is amazing (we recommend "pici all'aglione"), the wine selection is wide and also with interesting local labels. Great either for lunch and dinner. You might find it closed during winter, call in advance.
Highly recommended
