What a beautiful stay we had at Pam's Under the Tuscan Moon". We drove from Florence about 1 and half hours through the most beautiful countryside and found our villa perched on the hill. We were greeted by Pamela and taken inside out of the heat to have a refreshing glass of Prosseco ( sparkling wine). After a very familiar chat with Pam, a fellow Australian, we took a tour of the property. The Villa is surrounded by Olive trees and grapevines, and has an ambience that is quite surreal. Our room downstairs was nice and cool and was equipped with personalised dressing gowns and plush towels. Our family comprised of 2 adults and 1 child ( age 8) and the area suited up perfectly.
Pamela is so very passionate about Italy and in particular Tuscany that we quickly got swept up in the culture and laid back attitude. Breakfast each morning was very fresh and located at a huge table right in her kitchen. Each day we went sightseeing and on a couple of nights, we had the added advantage of Pamela cooking us a home cooked meal as we sat outside under her umbrella, looking out at the most inspiring view. Pam could not have been more welcoming to us or our little girl. We played cards and Yahtzee at night , took part in a little bit of local wine tasting and as it was June, we were extremely lucky to see the Fireflys in her vineyard. Our daughter even ran under the sprinklers in the garden, because the weather was so hot. Having come from staying in hotels around Italy, this was just like staying at home. The area is also great as there are many little villages that you can visit and dine out. To summarise, this is a beautiful place to stay, very quiet and very personal, plus Pam's cooking is delicious.
