Beautifully located, snuggled into the Tuscan hillside with breathtaking views across the countryside, this hotel comes highly recommended.

The staff were outstanding in their willingness to help, following a problem with our rental car, a member of staff went well beyond the call of duty to sort it out and prevent it from spoiling our holiday.

The room was spacious, well appointed, clean and well equipped, the beds generous and comfortable.

The only small criticism would be a limited menu in the restaurant, but given the accessibility of several excellent eating places in Radda in Chianti this simply served as encouragement to savour local cuisine.

Would thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel.

Lovely location, comfortable beds and nice room. However, the breakfast was very poor!!! The buffet style breakfast consisted of bacon, which was a mass of fat and the scrambled egg was horrid! There was also tinned fruit, prunes, very dry cakes, sweaty cheese, sweaty salami and a small amount of bread. There were a few boiled eggs in a bowl, which were cold, so we asked if we could have some freshly cooked boiled eggs. The waitress was extremely rude and told us to have the scrambled egg. We said we would like boiled eggs, so she stormed off and could be heard arguing with the chef. Five minutes later, she returned to our table and slammed the eggs on the table and shouted "they are hot" The eggs were just the old ones reheated. We had the same problem the next day. You had to constantly ask for cutlery, cups, bread, hot water for tea etc etc. When you asked for anything, you were given dirty looks and extremely bad attitude! They charged us to use the health suite, even though we were told it was included in the price. There was no chance of a lay in because you could hear banging, doors slamming and staff talking from 5am every morning. No tea or coffee making facilities. No information in the rooms about the restaurant times, health suite times, dinner menu etc. The health suite opened from 10am until 7pm, but you need to be visiting before breakfast, not afterwards and by the time you got back from an excursion, the health suite was shut. 7am should be the opening time and perhaps 9pm closing time.

Room Tip: Do not have a room on the first floor as this is staff quarters and very noisy!!

The location is lovely, perched high in the Chianti Hills, 2 km from Radda, about an hour of winding roads from either Siena or Florence. The hotel is of local stone, brick and clay roof tiles. Very traditional to the style but with a contemporary feel. Large footprint timber frame main floor/ reception has rustic feel with vaulted ceilings of wood, expansive walls of glass provide an open feel and also great views from inside; Common areas have comfy sofas and furniture; large contained patio has lots of tables and sofas under roof overhangs. Dining rooms are very nice and terraces on all levels for outdoor dining. Rooms are reasonable size, furniture is modest but good value for price, stone floors throughout. First floor rooms have private stone terraces (Juliette balconies on second floors). The hotel is clean and things are generally well-organized. Staff are friendly but I think marginally sufficient (It seems the 4-5 staff you see are there morning and night). When planning your vacation, understand that you have 30-60 minute drive to any destination from this hotel. Roads are tight and winding (60km/hr a good average). If you are staying local, it works. Radda town just 3km away and the feel of the hotel is definitely far from the madding crowd. If you plan to visit major destinations (Siena/Firenze etc), you will want to be closer to them.
There is a pool and grassed lounge area which will be refreshing in the hotter months. There is a fitness/wellness area which is silly. It has no equipment or facilities other than a tiny indoor pool. They should not refer to it as a spa and that would be ok.
Two issue that needs attention(1) the kitchen.... and because you travel everywhere from the hotel by car and winding roads, it would be easy to spend evenings on the terrace for dinners but the kitchen is the low point of the experience considering even modest local options. Morning breakfast is passable basic buffet-style; Dinner fare is sub-standard. Choice is limited and lack of freshness defines the menu. A second area for attention is the bathrooms which seem about a generation behind the rest of the facility and although spacious for the room size, have (truly) rickety shower stalls that you can barely turn around in. These need to be replaced Pronto! Daily housekeeping is prompt, well-organized and attentive.
The experience suffers a little (and unnecessarily) from gaps in some basic maintenance (exterior wood doors to the terraces are seriously degraded if not falling apart, window and door screens torn), not major issues but head-scratchers, as if skimping ...)
We enjoyed our stay. There were no issues or glitches (although the AC was unavailable and rooms stuffy unless windows open. Reception Staff are attentive although they don't rush or presume to take charge of luggage which takes some schlepping from the parking lot.
The luggage trolley is collecting dust around the corner.
The place needs some "spit and polish" and some life (and perhaps budget) breathed into the kitchen ... after all its Tuscany .... We stayed 10 days and the rate was 130e/night and the value was good. Some small things would make a big difference to the our memories of MyOneHotelRadda. A rating to "Very Good" is well within their grasp.

Room Tip: first floor outer rooms have beautiful vistas from terraces.Second floor rooms have Juliette verrand...

My husband and I stayed at My One Hotel Radda for 8 nights in April 2013 and used it as our base for our Tuscan holiday. It is in a great location as it is about a 5 minute drive from the centre of Radda and overlooks all of the countryside. I wouldn't recommend walking into the town as it is quite steep and there aren't any footpaths - you definitely need a car if you are staying here. We found every staff member to be friendly and accommodating. We had one of the split level suites which had two bathrooms, a very comfortable King size bed, and views in all directions. We were pleasantly surprised to find we also had a beautiful rooftop terrace where we enjoyed a glass of Chianti Classico of an evening. The breakfast is full of variety and can be enjoyed inside or outside on the terrace - the croissants are the best I've eaten! The bar in the hotel is a great way to either start your evening or spend your whole evening. At about 6:30 each evening, antipasto platters and pastries are brought out for you to enjoy whilst having a drink. It is 10 euro per person, or if you continue to consume beverages it is complimentary to eat. We completed each of our days in the Wellness Centre which has a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi as big as a pool. There are massage treatments available here also. There is a great outdoor pool but unfortunately it was too cold for us to take advantage of it. We ate in the hotel's restaurant one evening which was very nice but more expensive than many of the other restaurants in Radda. It was great to have the convenience of having a restaurant at the hotel. The only minor thing that was frustrating for me was that there wasn't an iron which I really needed for a lot of my clothes. There is the option of laundering but I couldn't justify the cost. It was a great choice to stay a little out of Radda as it was very quiet and had a parking facilities which a lot of other hotels seem to be without. Overall, it was a great choice for us. Even though it is quite modern inside, it still has a cosy feel with character and charm. It was a relaxing and comfortable place to be and we will definitely return. It took me 6 months of researching to decide on this venue and we couldn't have been happier with the choice. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The split level suite was spacious with great views.

This hotel is situated about 2km above the picturesque town of Radda, a 5 minute drive away.
My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights and used it as a base to explore the region of Toscana. Florence and Siena are both only an hour away in opposing directions, and you are surrounded by a choice of medieval hilltop towns and hamlets in all directions. A hire car is a must, unless you are a masochist with a bicycle!
My One Hotel Radda itself is a very pleasant place to stay, with courteous and smiling staff and very good facilities. The breakfast in the mornings is excellent, with a wide selection, whilst the restaurant serves a delicious menu for dinner, which some may find a little pricey but not extremely so.
There is a spa and wellness centre, where we made use of the gigantic jacuzzi to relax our sight-seeing-weary bodies every evening.

We stayed in the suite, which was split over two levels and had its own rooftop terrace - a great place to enjoy a glass of Chianti Classico as the sun goes down. The king size bed was very comfortable, and both the bathrooms were complete with shower, bath and toilet.
Overall very pleasant decor, and quality fittings. If I was to have a gripe, it would only be that there did not seem to be an exhaust fan in the lower floor bathroom, the automatic light in the wardrobe didn't like to turn off, and there was no iron and ironing board. Minor things though.

When we stayed (in April) the outdoor pool was still too cold to use, but in summer would be a fantastic place to enjoy the Tuscan sun and surrounding countryside.

We would gladly stay here again and readily recommend it.

Room Tip: The suite was large and sunny

We stayed 5 nights at My One Hotel. We had a hired car, flying in to Pisa airport at 9.30 in the morning, returning the car for a 10.30pm flight home.
The position on the road just a km from Radda itself was delightful. 360 degree views over hills and vineyards. The hotel was smart, contemporary and the staff helpful. Our room had a terrace overlooking green valleys (116) and was inches away from reception. The outdoor pool was cold but we swam every day (very British!)- why do they not install solar heating?
The spa costs 10 euros each for your whole stay (for which you receive a huge towelling robe & paper slippers to wear. There is a very efficient sauna and steam room and a small heated indoor pool that doubles as a large jacuzzi at the press of a button. There are treatments available but we didn't enquire about those.
The breakfasts were great- masses of fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, cheeses, rolls, toast , cakes and scrambled/boiled eggs and bacon- all self service. We stuck to fruit juice but there was coffee and tea available by asking for it to be made. Cold plates can be heated by putting your plate on the industrial toaster for a moment before selecting your hot food. We ate on the terrace each morning watching the mists rising from the valleys.
Behind the hotel there are stone steps that lead up to a lane up the hill to an archaeological site of a huge cross- replaced at least twice in last hundred years. A solar heating panels enables it to be seen at night from the town as a white cross. We took our exercise before breakfast on this easy walk.

The swifts re delightful everywhere and th cuckoos started at 5am (I wake early) and were back in the afternoon. I saw woodpeckers, bull finches and several butterfly species.

We ate mainly in Radda at the first clump of restaurants which were smaller and quieter. Look out for one on the right, below the car park with steps down to it- a villa on it's own.
We went to Siena (loved it), Arezzo (nearly as nice), San Gimignano (ok), Monteriggioni (14 towers around hill top town- very commercial- like National Trust with wine & ice cream!!) but interesting and the gem we found was Colle di Val d'Elsa (another hill top town which was deserted on a Sunday afternoon and a delightful stroll). We did Florence on the last day- frenetic, loud, crowded but of course, stunning (fing plaza de Michaelangelo early in the day for all day free parking and a fantastic view of the city- steep walk down & back but worth it.
If on a budget, you can buy your own wine (remember a corkscrew!), check the menus and find smaller portion starters.
GoldStar car hire charged us £120 extra for fully comp insurance! Find a fully comp. before you go- you will save a lot.
We found every journey delightful as Chianti IS totally rolling hills with vineyards and Cyprus trees. May is beautiful as it is sunny, green, full of wildflowers and budding vines. A great break.

Room Tip: 1st floor seemed to have terraces- 2nd floor just a window (maybe not all the way round). Our terra...

Just returned from 4 night stay here booked via groupon. It was a well deserved break got my partner And I.
Staff : all very friendly and willing to help. Happy to speak English too.
Breakfast: continental with a eggs and bacon tribute thrown in. We didn't try it as hapoy to go continental when aware from home. Don't drink the coffee in the hot urns as it smells yuk. Order a freshly made coffee from waiting staff it hit water for your twinnings breakfast tea.
Rooms : stayed in room 214. Asked got room with view but hotel fully booked. However not a prob. We looked out on to courtyard which was fine. Bed is huge comfortable. Screens on windows to stop midges etc. no air con do a little warm dome nights. Bathroom : adequate clean and good range of toiletries even nail file cotton buds and cotton wool. However shower is a rain shower over bath but not enough power near body and its direction and shower guard is too short which means you end up flooding the floor! Not a problem as its marble floor but have to use towels to mop up. No fan either so gets very steamy.
Bar : good selection of wine. Staff happy to help you choose. Had €10 buffet on first night which was olives, capsicums, pickled onions, houmous, croissant things?, bread and cheese etc. it was ok.
Restaurant; expensive. Food - ok. Partner had chianti Classico spaghetti- house special. Basically spag drowned in a bottle of red wine which resembled purple worms! I had beef fillet - medium bit was rare. Very tasty tho and had roast pots as side dish.
Spa: €10 each for use whole duration of stay. Very good medium size pool also a jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Outside pool is freezing but free!
Veranda: enjoyed a bottle of proseco - €30 here lounging in the sun with my partner. Wonderful views and company.
Chambermaids : very good exceptional standard if cleanliness
Minibar in room : water still sparkling, pop and cans beer. Think you are charged for this
Local tax: €2.50 per person per night. Can't escape this. Is added every day.
Surrounding area : visited siena, Firenze, radda, castillena, lucca. All beautifully old lots of history shopping and fooderies. Lots to explore and soak up. Got a nice bag and shoes !
Goldcar: we purchased extra €80 waiver for car and good job we did as got a puncture on way from Pisa to radda. Partner put jack in wrong place so also buckled the car chassis a little but no charge as paid the waiver. There is a spare tyre in boot and jack kit plus triangles and hi vis jackets all compulsory abroad. Tyre is a slimmer one and you can't do over 80km on it. Roads are shockingly narrow and pot holey unless you use autostrade where you pay toll. Only used this on way to lucca on last day. All other times used ss and sr routes. Very scenic if a little scary at times! Italians are mad drivers.
All in all had a perfect holiday and would definitely go back!
