La botte de Bacco was a great experience- the bread was fresh from oven and the wild boar was cooked to perfection. definitely recommended. Ambience and Service were great as well.

We stayed for one night in Radda di Chianti. This restaurant was recommended by hotel's stuff.
The place is run by two brothers, who are actually serve the table. Very typical Italian atmosphere. Owners are very friendly and customer oriented. We enjoyed small talks with guys during the dinner.

The menu is compact, and everything that were recommended was very tasty. The wine list has many local wines. We took a bottle of Mazzei Fonterutoli Chianti Classico, and enjoyed it at full.

I would highly recommended if you are in Radda di Chianti to taste local food and great wine. Reservation is recommended.

Maybe our expectations were too high, or maybe we just struck a bad night. We'd been in Radda for three days now, had tried to eat here the previous night but they were full, and now on our last night in the town (with a booking this time) we were there.

Bacco has two entrances: one on the main street through Radda, the other on a part road, part tunnel behind. It was here behind that they proudly displayed their Trip Advisor 4 star rating, and their Michelin Fork. There also was the menu which immediately had me, hook ,line and sinker. WILD BOAR! I'd never tried it, and now I knew I must.

WE all (4 of us) ordered entrees and mains. A big mistake we soon found out as the most comprehensive range of breads, some complete with small sausages, made their way to our table. Well, at least we weren't going to go home hungry. Serves were generous, service more refined and reserved rather than country farm friendly.

Mains arrived. The wild boar I had been eagerly awaiting was a major disappointment. The dish itself was fine, but it had been smothered in a thick sauce so rich and overpowering that I still don't know what wild boar tastes like. Our other three meals were also graded as average by those who ordered them. All in all this place just didn't deliver on the promise and we left feeling like we had somehow been let down. But as I said maybe we just expected too much.

Our first night in Radda we had eaten where we stayed: La Bottega di Giovannio. It was friendly, warm, and welcoming in ways that Bacco just couldn't match. And that set the standard for food in Radda. Sadly, La Botte di Bacco didn't meet the same standard.

After traveling for miles on winding roads we came upon this restaurant by chance in Radda (a small beautiful village). What luck! The menu and food were amazing. Everything was made from scratch and it was delicious. The house wine was the best we had during the two weeks we stayed in Italy. The chef and wife own the restaurant and they were so welcoming. The staff were very friendly.
I think this restaurant is a must if you are traveling the Tuscan roads.
