“Perfection in paradise!”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

This villa is absolutely gorgeous! It has beautiful, large rooms, peaceful grounds, exceptional staff, and a property to be richly enjoyed. After flying into Florence and suffering the inevitable jet lag, we also had the smaller, more expensive rooms that did not represent much comfort let alone luxury. Upon arriving to Villa Campomaggio, we discovered a sauna, hot tub/Jacuzzi/and steam to ease the transition from flight, city dwelling, into the Tuscan landscape. The staff was extremely helpful with directions and recommendations on dining a short drive into town.

A beautiful hotel in an isolated location with picture postcard views. Very good value with a lovely breakfast and the Taste of Tuscany (3 glasses of Chianti with unlimited aperitivo for €10) is a must! The staff are very friendly and knowledgable about the local area which is particularly helpful as there is no formal restaurant for lunch or dinner. We can't wait to return!

This hotel is located in the middle of several small towns, wineries & restaurants, so the location is perfect. (be sure to get the Europe card for your GPS). The staff were very helpful, friendly & professional. Our room was large, clean & bright with a modern bath. Breakfast & wine "happy hour" included. Gorgeous grounds surrounded by vineyards. Definitely would stay again.

Dear guest,

thank you very much for leaving a review. I'd like to remember you, that you booked an "self catering apartment", and not a room in the hotel. On our official web site it's very clear the difference between the amenities and services offered in the apartments, obviously less than the full turn of the rooms in the hotel.

We suggest you to check always what you reserve, and what your booking included. Anyway If you had asked us what missing (toilet paper or soap) we'd have give you it for free with pleasure.

Hoping to have you again as our guest, maybe at the hotel, I extend our warmest greetings

Recently stayed here in mid September. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and every staff member we encountered was professional, friendly and VERY helpful. Chiara and Laura were especially noteworthy. Junior suite 42 is spacious, with large bathroom ( great shower, tub, large towels etc). Comfortable bed and decent linens. Complimentary in room coffee and water was a nice touch (suite guests only I think). Away from hotel most of the day so did not use spa or pool but they looked inviting. Breakfast of good quality and many items including eggs. The room A/C might be an issue during very warm months (would only cool to 21C- --maybe can be adjusted centrally but we did not ask) and although windows open for fresh air, the bugs are plentiful in Tuscany so we were careful about leaving them open at night. Grounds well maintained, Tuscan hill views all around and just simply an outstanding place to stay for as long as you can. Love this place.

Room Tip: Room 42 good choice if suite desired. Room 31 also a nice deluxe room. Both have nice hillside views...

This hotel is a must if you want to experience the Tuscan area. Located in the beautiful Chianti region, you will see amazing scenery and friendly people. The hotel is about an hour from Florence and having a car (and a GPS) is a must. We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel and staff from the reception stayed up very late waiting for us, which we greatly appreciated. A winery visit is also recommended while in Chianti.

This is a beautiful place. The room and bathroom are huge. Very friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the Turkish bath and the sauna - we had the place to ourselves! Breakfast was absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend.
