Fun and welcoming family pub, good food and made at home...
Lovely Norfolk surroundings, you wont be disappointed. .........
Although isolated they offer a free minibus to and from the venue , so no worries about driving, you dont get this sort of sevice anywhere else. ...
This B&B, Pub has gone from strength to strength since the new landlady & her husband took over! I have stayed there a total of 3 times up to now, for usually 5 nights, & have no grripes about food or rooms.
A short walk from the free staithe moorings brings you to The Lion, but don't forget a torch, the street lighting in this area is a bit hit & miss & having a torch means you can see, but also be seen!
On a recent trip to the Norfolk Broads I discovered this hidden gem. This B&B and pub is hidden at the end of Martham Broads. Free quiet moorings. The peace was loud. It has come under new management a year ago. The landlord was friendly. We had a lovely meal, generous portions of traditional pub grub.Well priced. Local ales and ciders also feature behind the bar.
It could do with a childrens play area to attract more families to this quiet village. Ample parking. The sign posting from the Broads and moorings could be better to attract more customers. I hope this new business goes from strength to strength.
I wasn't really expecting a GREAT meal but that is exactly what my wife and I got. Liver and onions for me cooked to perfection with creamy mash and perfectly cooked peas. Exquisite! Well worth £5.95. My wife's seafood platter was equally, beautifully presented with a lovely salad mix, perfectly cooked chips and peas. £8.95. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the toilets, were clean and dogs are welcome. Oh and there's free wifi too, What's not to like about the smashing pub?! We will be back later on this week it was so good.
