We had the best time of our whole Italy trip riding around the picturesque landscape of Umbria. The owner Claudia is the absolute nicest person you could want to meet. I had forgotten to bring my license, and she drove me back to my hostel to get it, even picked up and drove me back to the train station. She is a gem! This is the true Italian experience, an absolute must do!

Six of us rented 5 bright yellow vespas for the day and were off on an incredible adventure. With map in hand, we toured the towns around lake Trasimeno. From prosecco in Panicale to lunch in Castiglione del lago and then onto gelato in Passignano sul Trasimeno, the day could not have been better spent.

Claudia was such an amazing person and so eager for you to have a very special experience. She provided us with maps, anecdotes, recommended stops and she even met up with us on our journey home.

It was a fabulous way to spend a day in Umbria.

My recommendations would be:

a) Don't forget your driver's license. (Claudia will get a chuckle out of that one!)

b) The ladies must be strong because the bikes are heavy. I couldn't put mine on or off the kickstand without help. But the heavy bike makes for an incredibly smooth and secure ride on the streets.

c) Have some vespa or scooter experience and you will be much more comfortable on your journey.

d) Plan your vespa ride at the end of your holiday, so if anything does go wrong, you will be heading home to re-couperate. No one wants to be hurt and unable to enjoy the rest of their vacation.

I am so looking forward to experiencing this again and spending even more time on the Vespas. It was an incredible way to experience Italy.

Thanks again Claudia!

We hired vespas for 5 days. We based ourselves lakeside in San Feliciano so we could avoid the fuss and time wasting of changing hotels and draging backpacks around. Claudia gave us great ideas for day trips and made us feel like one of the family rather than just ANOTHER group of foreigners. The vespas were in great condition and powerful enough to keep up with traffic. Fuel for a day would be under 10euro. Note that you need a reasonable amont of motorbike/scooter riding experience. It would be silly to ruin your holiday with severe gravel rash (or worse). If you are riding in a group, have a clear leader and navigator. If you do not have a navigator as a pillion or cannot read a map, consider bringing your own GPS or else enjoy being lost in the beautiful Umbrian countryside. This was the best part of our Italy trip. Highly recommended. Thank you Claudia, Marco and Lela.

Our group of 5 took an independent tour of 7nights touring Umbria and Tuscany. This trip was totally awesome and we hope to do it again one day!
Claudia and Beppe were excellent with the running of this tour, from the top quality accommodation, to service if something went wrong. (We got lost our first day, our fault, too excited to get on the road). We were picked up and dropped off at the train station in Perugia and taken to our first accommodation, then each day Beppe would transport our luggage between accom while we toured the scenic country roads, visiting wineries, famous ceramic factory, markets and enjoyed Lake Tresimeno. We were supplied with maps and detailed instructions which were easy to follow, with suggestions for stops along the way.
We visited many medieval villages and old towns at our leisure, tasting different Italian dishes each day for lunch, with our breakfast and dinners provided with the tour.
Some of the main towns included were Montefalco, Perugia, Cortona, Montepulciano, Siena and Trequanda, plus other small villages where the old menfolk were playing cards outside the local store; or some would make conversation and connect us with The All Blacks! we had some basic Italian between us so had no real language barriers during our trip.
We were away from home 7 weeks and this week on Vespa's was the highlight of our holiday.

If you wanna see Umbria in a new way, this is the way to do it! For a reasonable price you can rent a fun and sweet Vespa. The people are very nice, and they are giving sufficient instructions.
When you're on your own, you can explore the area (fx Trasimeno) in a pace that suits you.
