Summary: With the family we had a pleasant day with some nice scenery, staff were friendly but the amount of information and instruction was disappointing and price was too high for a day of paddling.
Based on the very positive reviews we booked a day trip even though it was quite expensive: over $400 for a family with 2 children. We were in quite a big group and maybe it was because of that but we hardly got any instructions on how to kayak, what were safe parts near the coast for beginners and what not, just 'if you do not want to you do not have to go near the rocks'. The information about the surroundings was limited to 'these isles are formed by glaciers'. When paying it turned out that there was still tax to be added making it nearly $500 for a day of quiet paddling, what I find pretty outrageous.
This all sounds very negative, but as said the staff was friendly and especially around Tangiers island there were some pretty parts and also the weather was nice so we enjoyed the day, it just didn't live up to the expectation/price.
