“Great Site with Views”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Have stayed on this site over the last five years with our touring caravan and have booked to visit next year.
The site is located on an elevated position with great views over the Solent, in the evenings the cruise ships can be seen turning in front of the site before disappearing on their voyages. Dates and times of departures from Southampton are available from reception.
The site owners, Peter and Sue are friendly and helpful and much involved with the entertainment in the on site club.
Waverley Park is well located and it is just a short walk to the chain ferry in East Cowes which takes you on the short crossing to Cowes. All parts of the Island are easily accessed from the site.

We had not stayed in a caravan for over 40 years but took this as a Red Funnel value break in order to make our first visit to the Isle of Wight and in particular to see Osborne House. We were very satisfied with the experience. The caravan was clean and well-equipped. The electric heater in the bathroom was handy to dry towels and smalls, the bed was very comfortable as were the seats in the lounge area. A downside was that the wifi connection in the club house was only available from 7pm and seemed not to work when we tried it. We needed to rely on the likes of McDonalds free wifi at lunchtimes. An excellent Waitrose supermarket just down the road made shopping very easy.

If you want a perfect place to stay on the Isle of Wight I would suggest the apartments at the Waverley. Apartment one has a view that I'm sure can't be beaten. This alone made our visit special. The apartment was massive and had everything we needed for our stay. The site has a bar open from 7pm which serves adequate meals.Happy hour is 7pm to 8pm.There is a Waitrose supermarket within walking distance and as the island is compact it is easy to get to all places.
My only gripe was that my room was above the bar and on the Saturday night there was music thumping through until 2am. The rest of the week it was 12.

Room Tip: Apartment one.

We stayed here last minute in may as we made an error with our own booking (i.e we turned up and got in the same day!) We were pleasantly surprised, they were lovely caravans, dog friendly, good views, good location, lovely friendly staff. We had a great time and would highly recommend this park.

We decided last minute to camp here, and I am so pleased we did. We had our pick of where to put up our tent, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The toilet and shower block is a bit of a walk up hill, but they were very clean and well organised. Showers were hot and had useful shelving and hooks for all your bits.
The bar opens at 7pm and the menu was good, and resonably priced.
Best of all was the little outside pool! Perfect temperature, with seating around it. There is a play park for children, which looked well maintained and safe.
A short walk takes you to the seafront, where there is a cafe, large play area, woodland walk, tennis court, paddling pool and places the children can catch crabs and paddle.
This is a perfect place for families, the children could be well entertained all day at very little cost!!!

We have just returned from yet another amazing holiday on the isle of wight, This holiday park is lovely place to stay, the holiday flats could do with a bit of up dating, but were clean and very spacious, they have every thing you need, but the most amazing part of flat number 1 is the view, You are looking out right across the solent, The big cruise ships are a sight to be seen especially at night, when they are all lit up. The Park its self is only 5 mins from the ferry, its quaint and is relaxing, you can go into the club room for a meal and entertainment or just sit on the patio with a glass or two of your favorite tipple,This family run park is well worth a visit, if camping or caravaning or staying in one of the flats. The staff are so helpful and friendly. A bit of advise book your red funnel ferry through the camp its much cheaper !!!. We will be returning again in the near future.

Room Tip: room number 1 , has the most amazing views and is huge, with four spacious bedrooms, and two bathroo...
