The massive tower can be seen from afar and dominates the square. Opened every day free of charge. Built 12th-13th century, also called Münster Church, its exterior resembles a stronghold. Interior: 16th century Antwerp Retable as high altar. In the Northern transept the Holy Tomb from 1500 depicting the Entombment of Christ, with seven life-size statues made from Tuff, above those Christ as a man of Sorrows between four Angels with the Arma Christi, all under a high canopy. 13th Century eight feet tall painting of St. Christopher with the child of God at his left arm. Furthermore: old murals, Eltze graves, artistic epitaphs of couple Cuno von Eltz and Ella von Esch, two relief plaques made of Basalt lava, marble tomb of Nikolaus von Eltz and his wife Maria von Hears, and a marble monument of their son Johann Wilhelm Antonius Bertramus Herr zu Eltz, Domherr ofTrier.
