“Good food but...!”
Review of Laguna Vista

Laguna Vista
Ranked #43 of 130 Restaurants in Palolem
Cuisines: Fusion
Description: Laguna Vista is a bar/restaurant with seven beach huts facing one of the best spots of South Goa! It is also ideally located only a few feet from the sea on Colomb beach, between Patnem beach and Palolem beach, just a 5-minute walk from both! We love to make our guests happy with good food and friendly service in a warm and relax atmosphere. Live music every friday night... Laguna Vista has seven well built wooden/bamboo beach huts, all facing the lagoon and each with a wonderful view from the private balcony in front. The beach huts all have an attached bathroom and are simply furnished with a double bed. They each have a mosquito net and a fan. The location makes them wonderfully peaceful and private.

The food is good and tasty, that's a fact..., but:

- I didn't get that feeling that I was a welcome guest, nor I got a smile at any time. Did they change staff? Because I didn't meet that friendly staff from previous reviews...
- the table cloth was dirty, with ants feeding on food stains. The ashtray was full of cigarette butts,
- the tables are too low. If you have a drink, fine, but if you want to eat, it's very uncomfortable for the back and the legs,
- some regular napkins would be a nice touch instead of mini cocktail napkins when you have dinner,
- there is no music at all. I felt lonely with the other one guest,
- no music but the staff is sitting and playing with their phone, listening to music that they skip every 10 seconds, talking loud with each other, and if it was not enough, one of them did a video call. It was loud and obnoxious and it's a complete lack of consideration for the customers!

I cannot only judge the food! Yes the "prawn noodle" was very good but there is a lot to learn about hospitality and ambiance!

This is the perfect place to stay if you want a bit of piece and quiet in between Palolem and Patnem. The owner and the boys who work there can't do enough for you and it's so special waking up to the water lapping away beneath your hut

Been here 5 times in the last week the food here is of great taste and quality and not to spicy unless you ask for it to be. The view is stunning the rock formations really stand out at low tide and some do disappear at high tide the charm of the place though is the laid back background music and the very attentive staff.

This locally run restaurant was closed in 2017 but has re-emerged in its original spot, right by Columb Bay. It is a joy to sit here by the sea and eat local food cooked by Goans. A basic but
charming place that is both cheap and welcoming, all I have eaten so far has been of good quality.

We booked this place through beachhutbooking.com which I'd never used before but the company were extremely helpful, arranging taxi's from the train stations and even booking our sleeper train travel as I was having difficulty online.

I'd previously been to Goa three years ago so knew I wanted to be between Palolem + Patnem beach. Columb Bay where Laguna Vista is located is a quiet peaceful bay ideally located if you want somewhere quiet to put your head down and to start the day. When I say quiet this is with the exception of hearing to odd dogs bark.

The accommodation is a very basic beach hut with a bed to rest your head and a slightly tired bathroom. There is a small verander outside the hut which was nice to sit at overlooking the fishermen's bay.

Tips - only a small hand towel size is provided for drying. We managed but it just wouldn't have been sufficient enough to sit outside in if your not one to reveal all.

The manager was very helpful and keen to please.

Must like dogs! The huts are closely guarded by a friendly pack of dogs that have lived there a few years. We were informed of this by another travelling couple who regularly returns to Laguna Beach.

We were slightly out of season when we stayed so cannot comment on the restaurant as it was not open for food, only beverages.
