We arrived almost at the end of the season we had so a quite good rate.
We were looking for a relaxing place to have a little rest after running around in the North. Dreamcatchers at that point was the right place !
The place itself is nice and very well kept. The commons ares are clean, flowered and the atmosphere cozy and relaxing. Our hut with attached bathroom was quite basic but, for our needs it was enough.
Plus points : private balcony, proximity with the beach, individual hamac, speed wi-fi conncetion.
For future, Not sure we will pay more that we did to go back and stay to this place.
Palolem is great but all the coasts offers lots of others excellents alternatives.
Special thanks to Santosh (part of the staff) always polite, smily and attentive.

I researched accommodation in Palolem extensively and was very excited to find Dreamcatcher. So much so that we paid £82 as an up front deposit to reserve 5 nights there! (Something we very rarely do)
Upon arrival we were so disappointed! It is at the quieter end of the beach which isn't too bad but the disappointment was with the cottages themselves! We booked an E type cottage which was one of the most expensive ones but as we were only on a 2 week holiday we wanted to stay somewhere nice! The cottages were beyond basic! They're dark and dingy and the bathroom is tiny.
When we arrived we were just given a key and taken to a room, we weren't told anything about the resort or about palolem! The next morning I went to ask about breakfast and told them we were disappointed and they said we could move to a nicer room & have breakfast included. We went to look at another two rooms both of which were identical to the 1 we had! The difference being that we overlooked the pretty river, these didn't so I asked why we would move? He said we were in F type but had booked E type, if we moved to E type he would give us breakfast!
We decided to put Dreamcatcher down to an expensive mistake and moved to Ciarans! A million times nicer.
My boyfriend and I have travelled around the world twice, staying in all sorts of accommodation all over the world and Dreamcatcher is definitely over priced! We were paying £32 a night, the price they charge just isn't justified!
As it turned out our deposit was non refundable so we paid £82 for just one night but leaving there was 100% the right thing to do and meant we had a far better time in Palolem!

This place is obviously capitalizing on some good reviews (not sure by ho though) by charging quite a lot for the quality. The cabanas are beyond basic and it's a few hundred yards from the beach and you have to walk through a shanty town to get to it. There are just as basic places that are on the beach and that are cheaper so I would avoid. Food is pretty dire too.

We spent 3 weeks staying at beach huts at several locations on the coast and this was the worst.
Despite booking ahead we were clearly not expected and made to feel as though our arrival was a major nuisance to the reception staff who were more interested in discussing with one resident her party the previous night.
OK, the huts have more spacious surroundings than many in Palolem but, despite booking one of the pricier options overlooking the river, the hut was basic and tiny and uncomfortable.
There was no information about how the resort operates and no advice on arrival. We had to beg to have our room cleaned.
None of the staff was remotely interested in the comfort of their guests including the bar/restaurant staff who were totally disinterested. And no effort was made by the onsite security to quieten drunken revellers on site being rowdy until about 5am.
As we left a couple of new arrivals were finding it almost impossible to get a straight answer from reception about the respective prices and facilities of available huts.
Altogether a very expensive mistake.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else!

We stayed at Dreamcatcher for two weeks over the new year period as part of a group that included a family with two young children that had not visited India before. All communications with the management team prior to our arrival were handled in a very professional, courteous, and timely manner.
Despite our internal flight from Mumbai being delayed by around 4 hours, the arranged transfer driver was waiting outside Dabolim airport with a clear sign that he was for us.
We had elected to stay in one of the secluded riverside cottages. The room was large, clean, the hot water was exactly that virtually all of the time, the bed was very comfortable and we had a balcony where we could gaze across the river and watch the wildlife….kingfishers, eagles, etc. Bathroom was well sized, with toilet, shower, sink and mirror as well as having the added charm of an uninvited guest in the form of frog that was often found chilling out above the sink in the evening. Having been visiting India for around 16 years, and this particular part of Goa on several occasions, our cottage at Dreamcatcher was certainly the best location we have ever stayed in. The camp is well laid out with lush foliage all around and plenty of trees that create many shady spaces, where you can often find a hanging hammock. Over the festive period, many of the plants had been decorated with tinsel and fairy lights, resulting in an almost magical ambience as your wandered through after dark. Very little noise from the other residents which is remarkable considering the size of the encampment. Yes, you hear dogs, crows, & monkeys but seriously, what do you expect when you are this close to nature??!! If they are likely to bother you that much, invest in some earplugs before you arrive.
We had a small plumbing issue, while our friends suffered a small electrical issue, which were both remedied very quickly after making the staff aware. As there is little point in daily cleaning, we only handed our key in for this purpose on a couple of occasions but upon our return the second time, found that the room had not been entered…..the one black mark and judging by similar comments on here, this clearly needs to be addressed. The balcony was swept and rubbish taken away without fail every day.
The restaurant is fantastic, and is designed in keeping with the rest of the resort. Again you can overlook the river while you eat. A Wifi connection was always available in this area. Anybody who thinks that they are going to receive a connection at their room, particularly one that streams music and video, is living in fantasyland and am surprised that some reviews are critical of this service.
We also made use of the spa facilities which were well priced. Always smiling, the staff attended to us both in a wonderful fashion and would recommend that you take up a treatment or two.
At night, friendly security guards, along with a couple of large Alsation dogs provided a level of reassurance not often encountered in other “beachside hut” establishments along Palolem beach.
When the time came to pack our bags and head home, we were able to pay our balance with a VISA card with no problem…..there were no unexpected charges! Transfers back to the airport in the early hours of the morning took place without fuss and the security guard was more than happy to help us with our bags.
Overall, we had a wonderfully, relaxing stay at Dreamcatcher and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Many of the criticisms on Trip Advisor appear to stem from unrealistic expectations and I suggest that clear, concise, communication including plenty of questions, prior to booking is sure to prevent this. In summary, the Dreamcatcher experience turns dreams into reality and will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime….simply, the most beautiful spot to stay on Palolem beach and while we were considering visiting another country for our next winter holiday, after this stay, we are already looking forward to our return. Yes, you will find cheaper places to stay along the beach but none offer the all round level of care, and in particular, the ambience that’s provided here.
Thank you Jackie, Walter and your team – we had a truly wonderful holiday!!

Room Tip: treat yourself to a secluded riverside cottage...yes there are more mosquito's at dusk but a price well worth paying to stay in such a tranquil environment
